I'm not very sure I'm right but here are two things which to the best of my knowledge are true: 1. You can run a program as a user and crash a computer (as long as the user-level program can talk to kernel land, and it always can) 2. X doesn't only run as root -- it actually writes directly to the video card memory and stuff like that. It's its own kernel. That is a huge problem.
Hi,
I've really wanted to get a SIP phone/service but I'm very worried about security.
Not only are the actual connections not encrypted but even the number I'm dialing from/to.
Why don't all these VOIP companies use some sort of encryption? Are there any good ones that do?
Just recently where I work we had a contest.
A friend and I both had to setup Bugzilla he on a W2K machine and I on a Fedora (FC1) machine. It took him all of half-an-hour and I still didn't have mine running. ( Cue the `what are you doing on slashdot' jokes).
Really it is easier to set it up on windows!
You should try cxxtest. It's a great unit testing framework that's VERY flexible.

It doesn't matter how many channels we have, there still will be nothing to watch.

Windows XP includes an assortment of "features" to make it boot faster. For example the "prefetch" mechanisim which helps it load the data it needs for the boot-process faster.
I have never had a problem logging in when the GUI was up. It is true that they bring the GUI up sooner (not all of the boot process was finished) but XP definitly loads faster.
For users like the ones you mention there is XPDE (I'm not affiliated with the project and have only tried it out, but it looks promising..) ScreenShots....
Sorry to tell you but this is very popular in this world. I know as a fact that medecine compaines give lots of goodies and treats to doctors so that they will recommend their products.
I'm a second year college student of pure math. I just wanted to tell all you non-believers taht its true. There is something amazingly beautiful in pure math. And in the way it is almost "above" reality.
Math is applied philosophy. And if you've ever tried tackling a hard philosophical problem you know what it's like trying to understand a prinicipal in math...

Is it just me or is the author illiterate, or maybe barely literate.
I really tried to read the article after being deeply moved by the Columbine massacre, but I just couldn't read through that drivel.
I installed something called kwifimanager (notice the KDE k there) Works great...

While reading some news I stumbled on this article:
