Well in another light this is a hack by a group of people who run and develop such software on PCs who could potentially be customers. I wonder what the PC to Xbox ratio is like.
New bios even on the 1.6 can be exploited. Using the Phoenix Bios Loader or the Frosted Bios Loader you can run a modchip like bios (play burned media, import games, regionfree dvd, no need to sign.xbe (xbox executables)) take a look at the Xbox Media Center. For files scope out #xbins@irc.efnet.net
I just wanna hear master cheif say 'En Garde' or some such when he opens a can of woopass;) or a german release would be kinda cool 'Warthog! Schnell!'
I didn't say it didn't have it, even if there is support for the device with USB there are protocols (for querying the device, uploading files, perhaps filesystem related etc) which software will be written to fill that void - that is what I was referring to. Good examples of such are mobile phone cables and software to upload files to it (say ring tones, to avoid paying premium just to upload a sound)
Well... it's USB and I believe that USB has been supported for awhile - Linux/BSD will make something happen soon enough, assuming there is demand. Keep your eyes peeled at SourceForge or get your hands dirty and prepare for a 400 mistake:D *fades in mr wizard music*

View this with MSIE and then Mozilla and Konqueror. Mind you I do use Mozilla, Konqueror does a little better job displaying this but it still looks horrid.
In the future, everything will be Artificial.
While I agree that anything to increase diversity in the consumer electronics field, especially with such widely used programs as browsers, some industries rely on MSIE, as it IS the standard. Several companies only release software that works AND displays correctly with MSIE. One such arena is Real-estate Multiple Listing Services. I can think of some other in the Healthcare Industry, namely Citrix solutions, think Children's Hospitals...
I am aware that they '...could just design it for XXX browser' and be done with it, but every time you do that you end up breaking things in some manner. To complicate matters some companies use ActiveX components - that even in IE will not work correctly or I should say provide full functionality on say MSIE on a Mac (which points to the company and the quality of their product, but I digress.)
With certain circumstances you can easily migrate people (in regards to the browser), it really depends on their needs. I would also go so far to say that the people that you are migrating most likely are excellent candidates for Linux on the desktop too; however there exists other industries that this simply is not an option - yet?
At least 1024x768? What games are you playing? Most default to 640x480 @ 60hz or 800x600. 1024x768 is still considered 'High Quality' by many games (many of which are based off of a modified q3 engine). Also webpages are still designed around 800x600, how many non tech people even change the resolution? I deal with people like this all day long: 'I cant see the whole page' me: '*sigh* if you're using IE press the F11 key' them: 'f...what?':(
Not sure how they arrived at 32. Season one of GITS:SAC was 26 episodes (excluding all the Tachikoma stuff minis). Second season has began and is currently at episode 9. The shows are aired in Japan close to eachother (with in a week) then another month passes... rinse and repeat. Fansubs usually take about 2-3 days to release something. Keep your eyes peeled for the Gits PS2 game (NA Release) set for november.
It depends on the crew and the release itself (for which comp or party it is intended). The shift now seems to be a VC++ GUI for setting options such as resolution and color depth with most of the demo done in assembly (ie the sound, graphic engine etc) for speed and size reasons. The more bloated releases (such as the 5-11 meg ones) are mostly due to the music which is stored as an mp3 and to a lesser extent the textures, although some generate these upon launch. Take a look at http://www.scene.org for some awesome demos (they have an archive) that you can poke around either by team/group name, individuals etc.
Only hitch is getting ATI drivers working for 3D support (currently you're stuck with 2d and thats it) since the binary only drivers are written for linux only. You're pretty much stuck with NVIDIA if you want anything reasonable (which you should be running, right?) I'm not trying to nag, just my freebsd 4.9 box is lifesupport for my ati8500, however i was able to get tv in working just fine through GATOS, and i don't really game on that box, its just something to toy with. that aside freebsd's video support is lacking in some respects, however im sure somethign will eventually make it a reality.
How do you know what you download is safe? (Not to rank on you) Patches just cover known exploits, what about yet to be found exploits? Is all the software you run safe? Lots of applications use various components that tie in to MsOffice or Internet Explorer. Good example are ActiveX controls and DLL's. Virus scanners are not all knowing (nothing is for that matter) but what is to stop homebrew solutions? ex: a custom keylogger or dll/ocx. You can pass arguements to these through the run menu or establish registry keys to do such.
Why doesn't she use email provided by a domain? Personal email addresses that are assigned say by your isp or freebies are excellent for backup (web based email is excellent too) but if you're running a business wouldn't you consider 'real' hosting? Such as one that for ~ 11 bucks a month gives you X number of email addresses @whatever.com instead of janedoe@myisp.com?
Evil is as evil does.

Maybe if you get perscription lenses or something, most will run you around 150-250 range.

Going on 3 years :) they kept the hds.
Nothing beats BOSE! That is something you just have to hear a demo of to believe how good it sounds.
