How can you make a sweeping generalization like that? Also, where in the offical Slashdot headlines or titles does it say "to advance the cause of OSS and Linux"?
The wars of the future will not be fought on the battlefield or at sea. They will be fought in space, or possibly on top of a very tall mountain. In either case, most of the actual fighting will be done by small robots. And as you go forth today remember always your duty is clear: To build and maintain those robots. Thank you.
AKIK, Visa/MC charge stores per transaction when people use a creditcard.
Obviously charging $0.50 for a $0.01 transaction is stupid so Visa/MC would have to come up with a different payment method.
I don't see why they couldn't have merchant accounts that log the transactions and bill the merchant $1 per X transactions (every 1000 Slashdot pennies for example). It would all be automated anyway.
I think the reason is the retailers will cry foul that they have to pay more and currently the CC companies make awfully nice cash from them they don't want to risk losing it in the bubble Internet economy.
EQ for example has a GM client, different from the user client. They could of obtained a similar thing for SB or simply activated the admin fuctions in the client through an editor.
Once that is done, everything they did sounds just like GM powers typical of a MUD.
Also, cable into the house normally gets split to 2 or more tvs. Every TV for digital (that can watch a differnet channel) has to have a receiver and a sub card. This brings a large upfront cost that people don't like.
What about Moebius, 2400 AD, Autoduel, WindWalker. All Origin titles I played back on my Apple ][.

Hi, you must be new here.
There is a chomping sound used in a lot of cartoons and radio commericals. I remember having it on my Amiga. I love that sound.
We have dev systems bigger than 100GB.

Wrong. Look a little farther back in history as to where TriCon was formed. I was wrong in saying Pepsi owned BK. The parent company was Pepsico.
Pepsi used to own Burger King and obviously served Pepsi. They haven't for a few years now and Coke is in.
These were VERY big plants. 4 Tons was probably 1 fern.
The best way to make money selling software is make the purchasing procedure as quick and easy as possible.
If you're expecting people to send you a cheque or money order you will see little to no money.
If on the other hand you have something like a 1 click paypal button or e-commerce site such as regsoft.com, you will see greater returns.
Electronic Quaterback?
>what is funny is that someone "interviewed" him and asked that question..
Database: On the "Itchy & Scratchy" CD-ROM, is there a way to get out of the dungeon without using the wizard key?
There are people out there like that.
After humping a hottie you have no choice but to cool down.

You also don't figure the profits based on a one time hit. Books sales such as these will continue for decades.
The 8th will be Harry looking back on the adventures of his youth....

Asimov is the major Apple ][ software repository. It has it all. Including your Repton.

There are even progs to convert the disk images to real 5.25" floppies.
Ultima Online had the money dupe bug that made almost everyone millionaries. EQ has a decpreciating ecomony.
I love that song!
Canada's Prime Minster has that beat.
Good ole Jean Cretien took out a protestor with a tiger claw to the throat. A classic photo for future generations. Gotta love it!
Homer: I love you, Pepsi.
Pepys: It's Pepys, Papa Homer
It's more a replacement for a DVD burner. The idea is to stream your pirated DivX movies from your PC to your televsion.
