    My argument is based on that knowing and experiencing/feeling are different, which was part of the lesson god learned. As for if Jesus is god or not, I never reasoned that part out, simply took that the father, the son, and the holy spirit are one as an assumption. I'm not Christian, btw.

    What amuses me most about attempting to reconcile angry and all loving god is that it's really totally unnecessary, if we take the premise that god was himself incarnate in Jesus, then it only makes sense that the rules will all change... once god has his run at being human, he sympathizes with us, rather than punishes.

    I have seen SCA experts that knew more than I've ever seen on a specific topic, and those that were grossly misinformed but just as sure of themselves, it all depends on how good the people that helped teach them was. It's very hard to say what level of learning and what forum of learning constitute expertese.

    I took a history of technology course at one point, and the professor firmly believed that every single major outcome in history was more tied to a technological difference or innovation that any other single factor. I have to say he made a damn good argument.

    I recently read that the half hour a day thing was started by doctors just to convince people to do SOMETHING, and a study showed it to have negligeable effect unless it was VERY strenuous exercise.

    But man, work up to 5 miles a day. You'll burn out and die if you go right to that, start with half a mile, and increase over a few months. As someone that went from a tech school background to running 3 miles every day(until sciatic nerve problems stopped me), I can say for sure your atrophied legs will want time to get started.

    Back when I was in high school in Mentathletes(geek competitions) a rival school had a girl on their team with honest to god pointed elf ears. I still don't know what to make of it.

    I think women with the stance that any fertilized egg is a human life should have to line up for implantation with all the surplus eggs created at fertility clinics. Not doing so, and letting those eggs be disposed or frozen, is elminiating a potential life!

    My mother, a rather protective woman, once told me that when she was young there were no cell phones, and her parents pretty much had no idea what was going on when she was out of the house, and that her and her mother were probably both better off for this arrangement.

    Nice to see a Fin on /., I used to play Batmud and half of the players or so are Fins, you should hear me curse someone out in broken Fin, Perekele vittu helvetti, lol ;) My family uses a stovetop perculator and pours into a glass vaccume carafe, to preserve the temperature without adding burnt flavor or bitterness.

    Though I agree with the parent that they use good beans, I have yet to have a cup of coffie from starbucks that was not horribly scortched. Every single cup I've had there was burned, at every starbucks I've been too.
