you guys find this stuff funny? i watched that same episode and about 30sec after this part i just closed it...how is this funny? it's boring, slow, derivative and not witty in the least. i'm not saying i could do anything much better but jeez...
perhaps i should have cited this definition as well:
terrorize - To coerce by intimidation or fear. - dictionary.com
do you deny the RIAA's multiple frivoulous lawsuits are a legal form of coercion? are the defendants not intimidated into settling rather than continuing with a lengthy, costly court battle? it's still terrorism, just a different medium.
TERRORISM - n. The unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence by a person or an organized group against people or property with the intention of intimidating or coercing societies or governments, often for ideological or political reasons.
the definition you quoted perfectly states the case for why the RIAA's actions could be considered terrorism, specifically, by the very groups (victims even) the RIAA terrorizes.
and since we're picking definitions most expedient to our argument: TERRORIZE - v 1: coerce by violence or with threats 2: fill with terror; frighten greatly - www.dictionary.com
sounds like the actions of a terrorist to me. september 11th should change our mindsets but not our language. by engaging in the act of terrorizing individuals, no matter who they are, the RIAA is by definition a terrorist. the original poster did not use this word "inappropriately."
Requiring the blueprints for a building is important insofar as it is necessary to remodel the building in the future.
wtf? requiring plans for a building is considered necessary (usually on a local level) because the designs need to be reviewed for competency, accordance to various codes, and to make sure the builder isn't cheating to cut costs, etc.; all of which are in the public good. if you really wanted to draw a good comparison, you could say any software used in at least the goverment (or the public sector as a whole) should be required to adhere to a strict set of safety, security, and other guidelines before being allowed use...in other words a set of rules much like the building code.
Don't get me wrong, I've ridden the train to work and walked from the station. A few weeks of that was enough to send me to the dealership. Dealing with 100 degrees plus temperature isn't any fun either.
I agree. Vectorworks is an excellent 3D modelling, as is ArchiCAD, which we have been using for about 3 years. Their mac support is excellent and on par with the windows versions. Graphisoft is the only company i know of that releases mac and windows updates side by side.
i agree with the poster above. remember, if you can, when you were a child, you had a point, and **nobody** would listen to you; so you get louder, and louder, and louder, because it's the world to you. it's an extremely frustrating feeling, especially when you feel the issue is of life & death and global importance. i can see that here. i don't agree with these protesters either, but not being violent takes alot of self-control (remember a couple poor, lost, and in their own eyes oppressed arab boys, eventually recruited by bin laden?)
the spy plane crashed on the chinese island of hainan, which is nowhere near taiwan (relatively speaking). secondly, taiwan is not china, and vice versa. that's like mixing up the us and mexico. big difference, people will get insulted on either side if you fail to see the distinction.
considering you are obviously on windows i really don't think you have a right to complain about "horrible proprietary software that imbeds itself deeply." thx
I used to just pee in the pool in retaliation for stupid things.
thanks man.

i hate to say it but, is this what geek humor is?

Sorry, but that is wrong. It has been said multiple times by RIAA members that downloading music is illegal EVEN if you own the CD.
since when did the RIAA become a legal resource?
if you believe the FUD, they have already won.

i feel really, really sad for you.
evoevoevoevoevoevoevoevoevoevoevo
...but getting Mason working started to do my bonce, frankly.
wtf does that mean?
you know this guy has been spending too much time in KDE-land...

it's not just that. you have to continually drink from the grail in order to be immortal; that was the impression i got.
this is the most informed & informative post on this sub-sub-topic. please mod it up.
i think the possibility of a complete metal interface heralds the return of theming to the mac os.
just my little prediction.

it's actually kind of sad, if you look at those photos.
twas once a thing of beauty...now a $3k failed baking experiment.
i'm taking you up on that one!!
that's john keats (1795-1821), from his poem "Ode on a Grecian Urn."
;P
you know x-files but not that? what is this world coming to?
lol.
well i thought it was funny.
ok, that's not funny; it's just stupid.
