Sure we could send robots to do all the space exploration, but where's the fun in that? I doubt that, if given the technology, sailors in the age of exploration would have preferred going themselves instead of sending these tin men.
I want the devices to be shaped like guns, just to piss all those anti-violence-in-videogames people off.
"I'm not REALLY shooting them! I'm just aiming a realistic looking gun at them and pulling the trigger, thus gaining rewards in-game! Training me to be a killer indeed..."
Make sure everyone has the games you plan on playing and the latest patches B E F O R E the event. It's rather annoying spending the first 6 hours getting everybody set up because each machine has it's own problems.
Oh, and make sure to devote a couple hours to mp3 swapping.
But after every WM I've used, I'll still always go back to Fluxbox... I'm using the developer release, and while it can crash from time to time, it's proving to be shaping up extremely nicely.
Eventually the americans will have THREE forms of government! The first is the regular government, followed closely by a Shadow government (For emergencies only, of course!), and finally a Cybergovernment!
Now when kids say they wanna grow up to be President, the teacher will have to ask "Will that be Shadow, Cyber, or Plain?"
I would sell my soul for a 'Super Mario Bros. All Stars World + Mario Kart'. The original All Stars for the Super Nintendo had SMB1, The Lost Levels, SMB2, SMB3, and later on they released the 'World' version which also contained Super Mario World. Seeing all 5 of these games PLUS the Kart games (Even just Super Mario Kart for the SNES would be fine) would put in a Nintendo generated heaven.
You'll notice that more and more of the digital TVs that are coming out are more widescreen than previous generations. They're slowly trying to move everyone over to widescreen, because, well, it's just a better format to watch stuff in.
Hopefully these TVs will come with an option NOT to stretch out regular sized stuff such as VHS and regular TV.
Well, it didn't take that long to get past all the protection apple put in.
However, I still think apple has it right with this music service (Even if it is apple-only right now) - they've made it rather easy to mix-n-match the songs you want to make your own compilations. Still sucks that it takes a lot of extrs work to make an mp3 CD.
Then again, if you can fit 300+ mp3s on a CD, that's quite a bit of cash to spend downloading songs.
This is great and all, but it's still EMULATION. x86 support in the Itanium seems very 'tacked on', unlike AMD's idea of simply extending the regular x86 instruction set to the realm of 64 bit. The way I see it, AMD chips will always be faster than Intel at x86 stuff. And when everyone is changing over, that's CRITICAL.
Eventually when 'The Matrix 5' comes out, we'll actually be able to have the movie plugged into the back of our head. The phrase 'The Future is now!' will finally be true!
The problem with finding educational sites is that when you look for 'Educational', it's almost always pointed at an older demographic (Older than 8-11, anyway.). I hear companies going on and on about how the internet is great for kids - but aside from Homework and FPS games, what is there?
I'm sure if kids are reading/., they're not playing with water balloons and apples - These kids are making potato guns that can smash through a brick wall.
"Because it's there.".

I live in Canada and I feel like buying one!

Let's hope that these new chips are as inexpensive as current AMD processors.
Or at least as heat efficient! (Badum-dum psshh)

Now I just may be stupid, but this is the first time I've ever heard of 'Vector Capitol'.
Who are they? Have they done anything I might know of?
Also, bring back CorelDRAW for Linux, damnit!
Well, that's excellent... now they can put 'Designed to run 3Dmark2003' on Nvidia product boxes!

Please excuse my blathering.

I had the same problem, so what I do is just run the python scripts directly to make them download the
Run this in your Bit Torrent dir:
btdownloadheadless.py --display_interval 5 --url http://www.url.org/file.torrent
Not the best solution out there, but one that works for me.
This is strting to get out of hand. Pretty soon it'll be Gnu/Gnu.
And we all know where that leads - a recursive loop from which NO PERSON CAN ESCAPE FROM!
Gnu/Gnu/Gnu/Gnu/Gnu/Gnu - Noooo!
I have an ancient Abacus that was bought from an medievel marketplace - and I still use it to do my business tax!

I apologize for my rambling.
It's illegal porn if it's a porno of yourself or others downloading mp3s and movies.
What? Life is too short to be reading /. when you're fourteen! You go outside and you blow out some car windows right now!
And don't come back in till the cops confiscate all your PVC pipe.
I hope these things don't get taken away due to a Small Arms Ban
I'm sure if kids are reading /., they're not playing with water balloons and apples - These kids are making potato guns that can smash through a brick wall.
Toys are just getting cooler and cooler these days. Why couldn't I have had RC Tank wars when I was a kid? It's just not fair.
Oh well. I guess I'll go back to playing with Lego and my good 'ol Speak-n-Spell.
For me, anything lower than 17" is a no-go. Ideally I'll get a nice 17" monitor for $150-200 CDN, but I'll pay up to $250.
As fas as quality is concerned, all I care about is that it lasts for a long time and that it displays things correctly.
