It is painfully obvious what the ACLU is really going after here. They are protecting the rights of businessmen to show pornography to minors and clobbering a parent's right to guard their kids from pornography.
Yes, just as the ACLU must love Nazis, since they argue for their right to protest. HIDE YOUR BABIES BEFORE THE ACLU GETS THEM!
On the topic of using the LEDs to show Morse code: http://kerneltrap.org/node/355 describes a kernel patch that reports panics in morse code. (Did this get merged into the main branch?)
I think you're right about most movies, but I don't think Saving Private Ryan, for instance, would have been anywhere near as effective, dramatically, without all the blood.
The whole point of the Java Trap isn't to say "Java is evil" but to say "if you use the latest JRE features which haven't been implemented in Free software, you are liable to get burned."
How long before people doing x get replaced by very small shell scripts, where x is "writing code", "system administration", or "asking stupid rhetorical questions"?
Aside from regulated over-the-air TV and radio broadcasts, can you come up with a single example of government censorship by the right? What publication? Which right-leaning branch of government stopped or punished the publication?
The most famous example would probably be the Pentagon Papers. The Justice Department attempted to sue to prevent their publication by either the New York Times or the Washington Post. Eventually, the Supreme Court overturned the restraining order.
The reason these "hackers" are going after online casinos is simple. Their legality is shaky and they have little public sympathy. Essentially it's the same relationship as organized crime and bootleggers had during Prohibition in the US.
The main problem is that a modern game requires a large number of artists, writers, and designers (and comparatively few programmers), and the majority of people who spend their spare time working on open source games are programmers.
I don't know. Even as an emacs user, I have to admit there are some tasks that are made faster by using a mouse. For example, suppose you have 30 files in a single directory, and you want to categorize them by creating subdirectories.
To be honest, I can't see why this is news. The pilot didn't suffer a loss of eyesight and the injury is likely non-permanent. How is this more newsworthy than Accountant Trips on Sidewalk, Injures Knee?
"You know what's really frightening?" O'Reilly asked Stewart. "You actually have an influence on this presidential election. That is scary, but it's true."
I can think of someone whose influence frightens me more.

There's a lot of areas where Wikipedia doesn't work, like say Mormonism, because opinions can obscure facts.
Is there another kind of corporation?
Presumably, the idea is that you don't hit keys like return or numlock acccidentally.
And HTTP is one step closer to becoming a Hypercard clone? You're comparing a protocol with a piece of software.

Which is 1/128 of the 14 character space. If this really worries you, use more characters.

So television, chocolate, and cosmetics are a priori shady businesses as well?
Yeah, everyone knows radio waves are electromagnetic.

Absolutely untrue. Bush considers reading extremely important. No one else would have taken the time to read My Pet Goat.
RTFL. This is a different comparison, by state.
Obviously whenever some right-wing magazine writes an editorial, it's major news, especially to those who don't look at the politics section.

So the Mona Lisa is worth nothing, because the Louvre isn't willing to sell it?
How does Badnarik or any other third-party candidate stand anywhere near a 5% chance of winning? To be honest I never understood this quote.
Read a book on linguistics sometime.
