'Not big enough' sounds like another planet/not-a-planet argument with vaugely defined criteria.
I would assume that it is being called an 'asteroid' because it was discovered, path projected, and designated before entering the atmosphere. Where as a 'meteroid' would be a lump of rock which was discovered only after it impacted the shuttle/hubble/iss/atmosphere/etc.
I agree. Could be and has been done many times before...cheaper.
The only thing I have NEVER seen with any full-immersion system is long term results.
Lots of focus on cases, and cooling stats, but never any reports about how well its working a few months down the road.
Sure they are using electrically neutral fluids like flourinert or mineral oil, but electrolytic capacitors need to breath. Unless they are using sealed components, its just a matter of time before something goes wonky, but you never hear them talk about that end of it.
Im going to guess virus fighting. Although I bet there will be at least one spam reference in there.
The original TRON had some interesting 'civilians' in it, everything from hookers (pr0n?), 'unlicesed data pushers', and even a religeous cult. It will be interesting to see how programs like Popups, Spam, Viruses, etc.. are depicted.:)
Even more important... what do the NEW tanks and recognizers look like?
As to point #2.... The 90 degree turns only occur on 'The Game Grid'. Once the bikes had escaped the grid they were much more dynamic. (Go watch the movie again and puke your guts out)
Its been 26 years since TRON, things have progressed in the computer world, now that the MCP isnt in control of everything. Remember when the MCP was defeated, his form was a stone tower guardian with a freaking typewriter in front of him. Even the first movie shows he had obviously evolved a bit.
As for possible plot complications... its been 26yrs... how long do you suppose Dillinger's prison sentence was for the Encom scandal? He might have been released, and now in this world of spam and viruses, he might be a tad disgruntled.
If they dont get sued for lifting the content, someone should at least sue them for false advertising... How can they call the game 'Limbo of the Lost' when the players are going to recognize all the rooms and know where they are? Should be called 'Limbo of the Strikingly Familiar' or maybe just 'Deja vu'
I cant remember what magazine it was in., but I -think- it was Popular Science... About 12 years ago had a nice picture of a cloud to ground strike initiated by laser. Clouds, crinkly bit, long straight diagonal line, crinkly bit, ground. Downright creepy looking.
It does not occur with FF2, but does in the FF3 betas I have tried so far.
So -something- has changed in the way Firefox handles it.
Example:
Ubuntu 6.06
Gnome 2.14.3
Email (Sylpheed) open on desktop #1
Firefox 3 beta open on desktop #2
Click URL in an email.
Firefox jumps to Desktop #1, focused, and opens page in new tab.
The URL handling command is ----- firefox -a firefox -remote 'openURL(%s,new-tab)'
Looks like I wont get a chance to try it with Beta3 because it crashes on launch../firefox-bin: symbol lookup error:./libxul.so: undefined symbol: pango_font_describe_with_absolute_size
Didnt have that dependancy problem with Beta2. Just my luck, there is no libxul for my old install.
Well apart from the upfront costs... When it came down to problems of sustaining the fusion reaction, there were several major milestones that I could think of that needed to be accomplished. Keeping the reaction from wrecking the reactor itself would seem to be an obvious one. The hurdle I have not heard anything about yet is, how do you inject new, and remove spent fuel. This really isnt a problem yet, as we havent maintained a reaction long enough to consume everything in the core, let alone need more inserted.
Somehow I doubt he managed interview any of the wolves and boars to see how they feel about dying prematurely of cancer.
Im sure people could live and reproduce there too, but it might raise a flag when they start dropping dead at 25 and 30.
I think M$ is betting that if people are willing to get a better video card just to run a $50 game, why not for an OS upgrade? And this coming from a linux user... I feel unclean.
I guess you can now hand the cashier at the bank a note that reads 'By reading this note, you agree to hand over all the money in the vault, and you will not call the police.'
So they have turned the aquarium into the worlds largest screensaver?
Let me know when they have the lifesize starfield simulator... heck, I would even settle for 1/4 scale.
!Reuters:: Monday, August 1 2005. Popular geek website Slashdot was shutdown by unknown government officials due to a dDOS (distributed denial of service) attack perpetuated by the linking of a story about terrorism. Previous accusations of dDOS attacks on other sites, attributed souly to Slashdot's popularity, will now face closer scrutiny to determine if these too were instances of targetd terroist activity. Slashdot administrator, CmdrTaco, is currently being sought by Interpol for investigation into possible paramilitary association.

Please, gather your family together around the DVD player, and watch 'The Core'. It will give you a better understanding of what a bad movie is.

Does it still steal focus and jump to the currently active desktop when another application gives it a URL to open?
But... but... I got my license -this- Feburary. :(

Consider it as an additional deterrent. Most people would consider -prison- itself to be deterrent enough...

Plus, these give functionality to those of us running an OS that doesn't require resetting regularly.
..did the world change just because the French said something was bad?
Since Linux requires much more CLI usage, it wears the keyboard out more quickly.
My house has several lightning rods. :)

So we can start compiling from source code now! We better get this covered under the GPL quickly.

Unless they figure out how to decontaminate the fusion chamber after they use a uranium/plutonium starter..
