Who cares if they know that MAC address X was at location Y?

If it's the MAC address of my smartphone, which I'm likely to carry around with me more or less all the time, I care a lot about who knows where that MAC address has been. While Googles rather idiotic behaviour just (may have) recorded, where said MAC address was at one point in time, the statement above is, in its broadness, quite a bit more than I would like to have to stomach.

It's not like there's a database linking MAC address to people.

yet. It's not like nobody could ever come up with that smart idea.

I don't really see much of a difference between the JAL page und delta.com, united.com or lufthansa.de. And the page of the ministry of health isn't looking too crowded either. Neither is the third one, but I couldn't figure out how to switch that one to English (still, ebay.com seems just as stuffed). The japanese versions of the pages look like a crowded mess, but that's rather because I can't deal with the characters. Switch to english and you should be fine.

Here's some required reading if you are contemplating this. Most importantly:

    5. Services Limitations. The Services provided by Pathway Genomics are solely for research and educational purposes and uses. Although based on scientific research, the Services, including all information about genetic findings and probabilities, have not been fully validated and shall not be relied upon by you or any other person to diagnose, treat or prevent any disease or health condition. You should consult with a physician or other appropriate health care professional regarding the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of any disease or health condition.

Emphasis mine. I knew that'd be in there along with point 13 (the indemnity clause).

What's the problem? Of course decisions based on genetic testing should be taken only after consulting a doctor. That actually should be written in big letters on the packaging.

  20. Re:why, at that rate... on Austria Converts Phone Booths To EV Chargers · · Score: 2, Interesting

As far as I know, they're actually not allowed to give up the phone booths. Telekom Austria is the former state monopoly and they're obliged to maintain certain services even though they may not be lucrative anymore.
(Just as the Postal Service has been forbidden to close certain Post Offices lest the density become too low: Some retirements pensions are actually still paid through the Post Offices and you don't want old people to have to travel for hours to get their money.)
So upgrading an existing infrastructure that has to be maintained to offer additional services doesn't seem like too stupid an idea.
