Have you ever had a gastro-nasal tube inserted or removed while not under anaesthesia?
How does it compare to that?
The most extreme pain I have ever experienced was due to me skipping some pain killers after having a RPLND (Retro-Peritoneal Lymph Node Dissection). Lovely operation that, having the muscle layers in your stomach cut and waiting for them to repair isn't fun.
And headlights not being turned on at night has always seemed like something that just shouldn't be able to happen. The last couple of cars I've owned popped the lights on automatically when it got dark. That shit should be mandatory standard equipment.
Headlights should turn on the moment you turn on the ignition and turn off when you take the key out. With all the grey and silver colours that are all the rage at present, it would make these cars easier to see at dusk and dawn.
And while we are at it, Hyundai rear fog lights should turn themselves off automatically when the ignition is turned off. When the car is restarted the light has to be reactivated.
But it is called 'Universal time', it doesn't apply to the universe, just to Earth. Maybe it should be called Earth Coordinated Time or Sol (III) Time.
It is like the American Baseball finals called the World Series and the body-builder competition called Mr Universe. Naming things outside of their scope and application is pretty silly.
They have a kick-ass commercial game which looks a lot like Mech Warrior, and it runs nicely and natively under Linux. They also have redone the classic Doom game which runs under Linspire's Click-And-Run installation.
It has nothing to do with being open-minded, it is whether or not they feel comfortable doing business with a much smaller manufacturer with a total reliance on one or two fabrication plants.
But it could also make for bad decisions as companies like to put 'Yes men' in charge of their subsidiaries.
Having independent companies licensing IP means they have to work harder to make a great game to make sure that 1) the game makes them money and 2) they get more business from WB.
Using the touch screen by design is a good way to go, but having the touch screen and trying to fit a game to it is not what I would call an ideal situation.
That is the feeling I get from the interview and other articles regarding the DS. Does not fill me with hope for the first generation of DS games.
A few things count against the effectiveness of that surveillance:
- Annoying commentators that talk over everything
- 20 minutes out of every hour, the surveillance system will be down due to 'messages from our sponsors'
- The terrorists could have a conference at the synchronised swimming and not be spotted as no-one watches that event
Take a box with one face toward you, blow on it... now turn it 45 degrees. Voila! 45 degree angle to the wind.

'Ain't it a shame' you didn't get modded up...
In this context, shouldn't it be in Earth time?
I just hate it when the Klingons have their cloaking turned on and look like shrubs on the side of the road...

"Oh bother, said Pooh, as he chambered another round"
I personally quite like:
"Oh bother" said Pooh, as he saw the mushroom cloud.
...that a million net monkeys can fix the complete works of Shakespeare so that they language is spoken the correct way?
Instead of 'WHat light through yonder windows breaks?' we get 'Who is that hot chick I can see through my binoculars?'
Then uninstall the freakin' demo then...
Start->Control Panel->Add or Remove Programs
Contrary to popular belief, deleting shortcuts DOES NOT uninstall the product.
Or some code has been saved in to normal.dot
Thank your lucky stars it warns you...
Why can't people take responsibility for what they shove into their mouths?
It isn't McDonalds fault they end up giant lard-arses.
On the opposite:
iTunes Music Store

Can't think of much else though...
And you can spot that in all those compression artifacts?
Now you have to standardise on what dimensions the human doing the walking would be?
Amazonian Pygmy, Samoan Islander, Kalahari Bushman, Mongolian or European?
Limited to Windows and Office users, now that is a limitation I'd like to have on my customer base.
Oh wait, I'd like to have a product that is limited to Linux and OpenOffice.org, imagine the millions of customers then...

Do you want to kill all Irish people because of the IRA?
Do you want to kill all Christians after what Timothy McVeigh did in Oklahoma?
Do you want to kill all white male caucasians because of what the Unabomber did?
Or should we just wipe out the human race because we resort to violence when we feel strong enough about something?
The best way to eliminate terrorism is to find the root cause and fix it. The current method obviously isn't working too well.
