"Nor does the local gas station."
Actually the gas station does fill my tank from their big tank, I watch them do it. Why would I want to exchange my well cared for tank for one that the last person dropped?
However you can usually get the unedited version at your local record/book shop. If people did that rather then buy at Wal-Mart then they would reduce Wal-Mart's ability to make such demands. It only works because the vast majority of people buying albums buy them at Wal-Mart and accept the edited version.
No this does not seem hypocritical. While I think this law in unnecessary, we do have movie ratings and for some ratings you need ID or a parent to get in. So, in your example, Manhunt is an AO game or an R movie, you would need to be 18 for either. Now some theaters may choose to ignore this ID requirement, but there are some that would check ID and not sell a ticket to an R rated movie to a 15 year old. How is this any different? Arnold made incredibly violent movies for adults knowing that kids shouldn't be able to get into the theaters or buy the movies without an adult. The same is what he is looking for now for incredibly violent games. You and I may not agree with his position or this law but let's not call him a hypocrite because of that.
Ok....but what if in preventing them from being able to carry Malaria we make then MUCH more able to spred West Nile? Or perhaps enable them to carry Bird Flu? I think that this has some potential benifits but also a ton of risks, and we may not know if it's the "right" choice until it's too late.
As opposed to them selling me a Windows Laptop that I can then load Linux onto and GUESS at what works and what doesn't? The scenario that you propose is vastly better then today!
This however assumes that one is allways going to "the top floor" so to sepak. Nothing should prevent the elvator from stopping a LEO and letting people off......
"Windows has a vested interest, if they can lock games to windows, people will buy windows"
The best example of this is too look at the number of games comming out now and in the near future that require Windows XP. MS is intentially not putting DirectX 9.L onto Windows 2000 even though DirectX 9.L is really just a minor change from DirectX 10 (which is on Win 2K) to make people who run games on Windows 2K upgrade to XP or Vista. It's not just about locking in Windows, it's also about getting people to buy new versions. (Also see the licence change in Vista to prevent people from switching the hardware more then one). Oh you bought a new video-card, more ram, and a faster CPU to be able to play the latest game? Remember to budget for a new copy of windows for that "new" system.
My MAJOR reason for still having a windows machine is my wife wants to play "The Sims2". I would happily buy a linux version if it existed and I suspect that if any 1 game could turn the tied of Linux Gaming, this would be it!
No, this is NOT "California is now simply returning the favor"....this is Attorney General Bill Lockyer getting ready for his run for state treasurer (as a Democrat) in the November election! This is a way for him to not spend a single DIME of his comapign money and get a ton of "free" publicily, mostly at the cost of californians (in the cost of layers to file and the courts to fight it out and the percenption that CA is that much less "business friendly"). This is the democtats showing that they are just as out of touch with what people want as the republicans. Nothing more, nothing less.
That would only work if you've added www-client/mozilla-firefox ~x66 to your package.keywords file or use
sudo ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge firefox As it's not yet in the stable branch. Also right now the most recent testing is 1.5_rc1-r1 .
While this is true, it's the not most important reason, we want optical computers because ther photonic chips would now have the leakage that electronic chips due, and this would greatly reduce power consumption and heat generated.
If I recall correctly he never "walked" hs just stood in one place an hit buttons on the handlink to move himself around. That and asked the computer to "center" him on someone. He only walked if he was leaving throught the door of light.......
I never had that problem with SBC. I went online at work and bought phone service and DLS on their webpage. I got exatly what I wanted with no hassles. The few times I have needed to call them (like to get a faster DSL service) they have been very helpful, at one point I even had a guy tell me on a Friday to "Wait and call Monday" because that's when a new offer on the service I wanted would start and I could get it for 30% less for the first 12 months of service. I have been very happy with them.
No, this smacks of marketing first, practicality second.
Yeah because the H2 and H3 and sports cars that can go 180 mph are practical and arn't just mkareting to make people want 400 horses under the hood. Practicality doesn't sell, flashy does!
That's just not true. If you want to work at intel look here. A quick search of their job tools show a number of open positions for Engineering jobs in the US. None of them listing a minimum GPA. As with anywhere if you are applying as an RCG i suspect that a better GPA gets you further....
If OS X would run on stock PCs I would pay $199 for a Family pack and load it on several machines. I can see the ads now....same prices 5x the computers.....:)

"You see, it's like wiping your ass with silk, I love it."
In that case I guess I have some desire deep down to run arond in a mine field and hope I don't fine a mine and get a frowny face!

"He's the first Intel CEO with a non-tech background. What did you expect would happen."
Considering that he has been the CEO for just about a year, I would guess that Otellini is far from the only reason for Intel's current position.
I swear I didn't know that $sys$*.mp3 were even on there! Looks the folder listing doesn't show them!
Ok, I just put my foot in my mouth, i somehow missed seeing the unavaliable box and a lined it up with the testing. My mistake.

We want optical computers because light is fast

Here's a link for Intel's Virtualization Technology .

Look on Amazon. Any book on multi procs will work.
