I would like to hear how this is actually being done in the wild on Linux/*BSD/MacOS/etc A botnet developer who hopes to mass a significantly sized network would have no interest in the sub 5% of desktop(read poorly managed, no matter the OS) computers that your niche market segment occupies.

I believe what he is hinting at is the fact that PHP, unlike the ASP.NET framework, does not provide functionality on that level. Instead it is up to you to create that functionality, or use a framework where someone else created that functionality for you. Implementing the Master Pages feature in PHP would be a trivial task. You could recursively evaluate templates, capture their ouput, and place that output in the proper location on a parent template, or you could composite the entire thing into one template and then evaluate it. With PHP this kind of implementation detail is under your full control.

When you push a ball off of a table it should fall to the ground, this is what has happened before in your experience and this is what you believe will happen now. However there is nothing assuring you that it will happen, it may not. For all you know, the universe you live in is just an infinite sequence of purely random energies which just appear to behave predictably in your finite view of them. For this reason assuming anything is "fact" is not a scientifically defensible position to hold.

Terrible astroturfing, fanatical fanboyism(please spare me the "you must be new here") at its finest. It is my anecdotal observation that Rock Band, Uncharted, Assassin's Creed, and Call of Duty are the big titles now. GTA4 will be big, but in my opinion the real driving force for the PS3 is blu-ray disk and free online service. Also technically the playstation hardware is superior, not only in the storage capacity of the disk which allows for greater resolution textures, but in the processing power. The XBox suffers from having to use DVD media, this, in my opinion, is one of the largest points against it.

You are woefully incorrect in regards to the moral alignment of the factions if you believe the Alliance is the good side, which is what I took from your statement. However, faction alignment aside, the Deathknight in warcraft has been a tool of the Scourge, not Horde or Alliance. I was an attendee of Blizzcon 2007, and took from the speeches about the new expansion that Arthas would, instead of being a raid boss locked away in a tower, be an NPC with a faction that players could join and learn the skills of the Deathknight from Arthas or one of his minions. In this way any class of any race and faction could become a Deathknight after completeing the required rep grinds and quests.

Cleaning is the main issue with a trackball. I used one for several years until I broke my hand and was forced to use a mouse for several months. In that time I adjusted to the Razer Copperhead and have not really looked back.
