IMHO 3D or 2D doesnt matter, the thing thats valuable is FUN...

A very old school freeware platformer, but fun nevertheless...
lovely Dreamcast of yore, the last "real" console, not the overhyped "entertainment center"(handicapped PC), we get to see today...
Soul Calibur, Jet Grind Radio, Skies of Arcadia, Guilty Gear X, those were the games my friend...
Even more retro: NesterDc, especial Edition, the BEST Nes emulator for consoles out there:
http://www.sch3rz0.com/nesterdcse/
shame the old sega we knew is as dead as the moon...
I prefer the term stress reliever, as there are some old games lying around that I use to blow off steam, when things are are difficult in the real world.
M.U.G.E.N, and old 2D fighting games engine used to reproduce characters from fighting games, or making new ones from scratch, Evil Ken Rocks!!
Alien Soldier, from Treasure for the Mega drive, and old school, contra-like very hard shooter, the use of counter force to nullify enemy bulletes and turn them into health power ups gives a sense of revenge and fair play unmatched by any other similar game
Quake 3 arena, low harwdware requirements, easy to catch up play mechanics, and the rocket launcher is you friend, nuff said...
emulators..., specially Nester DC for the good old dead Dremcast, need I to say more??
Thanks given to god as my family and myself are living in Venezuela, but I cant stop thnking about this movie...
tropical storms more frecuent, and more southward, and even more violent, its me or theres a pattern here, anyone can help me to clarify...
BTW, a more real ending to the movie could be a full scale militry op to conquer all the countries in the thirld world, the name operation survival could be fit...
anyone remember that old movie?... freejack its the name, with emilio stevez, about a backup mainframe to preserve the personality until some fresh body comes up for downloading the soul of the rich & powerful people, man thats a dystopia!!
Not exactly, but close, the NES CPU is a 6502 compatible type CPU, I guess its the 6527 or 6528, all of them are close relatives, the commodore 64 used a 6502, the same as the apple II, and nintendo used a binary compatible one the 6527, difference is the sound registers or SAPU,some registers in the 6527 that took charge of making sounds, by the way commodore 64 used a separate cpu for sound, the 6508 SID = sound interface device, a superior sound making method, and still a cult soundchip in europe, dont believe me? search SID chip in google and youll see...
In the other hand, I think governor swarzwatever, should be a corporal o even liutenant, with a cyber eye and bionic arm( lost to a former encounter with predators, so he`s out for revenge)
Lucy Liu, armed with a katana made of ceramic, or any other non-metalic compound, so the alien`s blood can`t damage her blade, with her attitude, she`s likely to gain respect from the predators, maybe they go to hunt together...
Byrne the guy that acted as the devil in the final day should be the CEO or COO of Weyland Yutani
Stick closely to the original comic, put a plot twist here or there and should be a nice movie, not oscar worthy, but a good one nevertheless IMHO...
Sure its not for everybody, but look at the specs, motorola compatible, even an expansion slot for the same CPU that powers the old trusty snes, even fpga programable, it means that you are not emulating your genesis or Snes you are re implementing it, just wonderfull for me,as I think todays games are crap, notable excpetion...
knights of the old republic for X$uX,this game is way to good....
but im drifting here, back to the topic...
posibilities are not limitless, but quite a broad spectrum of posibilities, what about puting on a keyboard , a FDD, serial and parallel port...
el cheapo computer, with linux of course...
what about searching for a heavy magnetic anomaly with the form of a monolith with a ratio of 1:4:9?, remember the Tsien space station, they were the first humans to get to jupiter moon Europa...
that`s the proof that the machines left alone to their resources always find the simplest( occam`s razor theorem)and most efficient solution for a problem, in second renaissance 2 you see that obviously the machines are way more prepared to fight than humans, as their solutions for war are much more organic looking.
that`s in the side of hardware, thinking about soft it is obvious that OSS can solve problems in simpler ways, like the old russian tanks, just change what is needed and only that, so the matrix is powered by GNU and the architect is the reincarnation of richard stallman, I always thought he was up to something evil:)
" I have only one little trouble with reality... I live in it!!!"
search no more, go for gasaraki, one of the best in recent time, deep political plot, tactical military armor seen as it should be seen( a military tool far better than any tank), a little of supernatural fenomena, characters that act and look like real people, just go and search for it( if you are an stalwart patriot, dont see the episode when 4 tactical armors beat the crap out of a full abraham M1 tank battalion, its ugly)
Slayer, the vampire character in this jewel of a fighting game called Guilty gear XX( psx2), he looks a lot like jigan, but more cool, his monocule and smoking pipe gives him a debonair, a wordly guy, maybe the people at Sammy, the creators of GGXX realized the cool attitude of jigan and made an spoof of it, btw, baiken the female samurai looks a lot like rurouni kenshin from samurai X
As far as I remembber the zx81 HAD sound, only had to put it near an AM radio and generate for next loops, the CPU parasite radiation plays a siren like tune int the radio if you tune it just the right way, have to test with random numbers and complex calculations, it seems to generate more complex sounds, have fun
I used a little tool called dreamcast factory, great for downloading emulators and creating bootable cd for dreamcast, this emulator is superb, also check GNU Boy, from the same creator, takayama fumihiko
"I'd gladly pay for such a disc. From what i've read around with a dreamcast and a nes emulator this could be done but I am not sure how good those emulators are. "
Search no more, you want a very good Nes emulator, search for dreamcast factory( Google is your friend), this freeware tool lets you make your own bootable emu cd, any of them, but imho the best around is NesterDC ver 7.00, this emu rocks.
very easy to use just follow instructions put your roms in the apropiate folder, and voila your dreamcast is reborn as an emu machine, the second best emu is GNU boy a great port made by takayama fumihiko, also nester dc creator.
Now that my dreamcast is dead, what the heck, lets go retro!!
sorry for the off topic.
BTW as far as i know tec toy has the authorization from sega to make the machines, in fact there never was an import genesis, as tec toy asembled them over there, and if you think that piracy is a problem in Brazil, just take a walk in the streets of my country, venezuela, even I get to sell some burned cd some times, low salaries+high import taxes+greedy retailers= piracy running amok.
Sorry for my english, it`s not a language i get to use very often, nos vemos luego... ________________________________________ ________ Truly, if there is evil in this world, it`s residence is the human heart...

A god plot, thats all
Imagine a trilogy based on Legacy of Kain
Ian Mc Kelan, Moebius the mage
Russel Crowe, Raziel
Director, Ridley Scott
Legay of Kain is a plot heavy game that could make a good transfer to the movie, but only if it is well done, pity, it will never happen.
