I'm sure microsoft has enough money to buy it. Hell, I fucking HATE microsoft and I'd still sell it to them for a hundred million or so. If they're serious about the brand they'd buy it. Or get their lawyers to cook up some reason why the current owners are infringing on their trademarks or something and sue them out of existence to get the domain.
It shows a real lack of dedication on the part of microsoft.
Well MY grandpa had to walk three hours each way, through the snow, to get his pictures made out of tiny vibrating strings. AND it was uphill BOTH ways. AND they were only in black and white!
Apple didn't invent silhouettes. I also seem to remember apple ripping off a Postal Service music video for an ad a while back and all you mac fanbois defending that. Just shut up you hypocritical bastards! Don't you have a blue apple to worship or something?
In general they lie a whole lot less. Though maybe some of the republican "lying" is just their extreme ignorance. And maybe it's just because I'm such a nice guy, but I usually give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that they're not fucking morons and that they know better and are just liars.
I'll trade higher taxes (maybe in line with my cell phone service, which is about 25%, yikes!) if they'd fucking put price controls on the monopoly cable service! Internet doesn't need to cost so much but it can because the cable companies have an unregulated monopoly and the other providers (DSL, dialup, whatever) price accordingly.
Don't be fooled, the American military hasn't fought ANY wars for "our" cause in over a century. Probably not since the Revolution. That being said, Google really should put something up on their site. At least that way I'll remember why I'm not at work that day.
Only where there are two sides and where both are equally valid. Showing "both" sides of most controversial topics today basically requires you to show one insane position without any evidence to back it and then one that does have evidence.
And since you're Sony you'll probably stop releasing shit on that old format that you invented because you'll be putting it out on the competing format that people actually bought.
Oh yeah, which company was it that got put out of business due to piracy? There is absolutely NO evidence to support this claim. If you doubt this, just go try to find it. You won't even bother looking though, of course, because such evidence DOES NOT EXIST.
And how come you seem to think that everyone would copy Half-Life (blah, I'd rather play something good anyway) but they wouldn't copy EA games? You do realize that you sound like a complete idiot, right?
It's kind of sad that this is coming out for PS3. At least from the developer's standpoint. It seems like they want to get a lot of people using it, including more than just "traditional" gamers. But the PS3 install base is just too small. In fact, I don't see many of the people who would really get into a game like this even considering dropping $600 on a game console to play it.
I don't think it's lack of players on Linux. They had a Linux client for WoW that shipped with the beta, though undocumented (if I remember correctly), but it was pulled from the retail version. WoW however runs great on Linux under WINE and I'm sure they have enough players doing so to "warrant" the port. Why they don't just do this, since it would be fucking easy for them, I have no idea.
If I were conspiracy minded I'd say it had something to do with Linux posing a legitimate threat to windows if it only had proper games support, where as mac isn't.

None of that is relevant to software copying though. It's pretty hard to make an identical SUV or even a book. Sure with a book you can, pretty easily, make a copy of the text. But you can't really duplicate the functionality. You end up reading it on a PDA or a computer screen or PSP or whatever, which is very different than actually reading a book. When you copy a software program/music/movies/etc you're can and often will get something that is functionally identical to the original, many times superior since the DRM/"you're a fucking thief"/misc bullshit is cut out.
As for microsoft, I'm pretty sure they already have half a dozen versions of vista. Though if the cheapest one wasn't obnoxious to use and cost $5.99 like a paperback book you might start to have a point.

I hope this fails. It'll likely kill Linux as most of us like it if it succeeds. And by most of us I mean more than not. And by as we like it, I mean without gnome. I also can't imagine anyone who currently buys windows machines from Dell being happy with it. gnome is a fucking nightmare!
Shuttleworth has really done the Linux community a huge disfavor by pumping tons of money into yet another gnome-centric distribution. How about some big money back the quality side of Linux for a fucking change?!?!
While that's certainly true, just because it would change how someone makes money doesn't make it a bad thing. It's sort of like someone who works at a prison who spends their weekends volunteering with at risk youth to help them grow up to have successful, productive careers instead of getting involved in gangs, drugs, or other criminal activity. Sure it would, if successful, put the prison guard's job at risk if they helped decrease the number of future inmates. But could anyone really say it would be a BAD thing for them to do it?
I don't think doing a new MMO game would be that great. I mean, WoW isn't that fun to play. Just because it has several metric fucktons of players doesn't mean it's good, just means a lot of people like mindless grinding, gameplay that rewards time over skill, and/or annoying 12-year-olds.
Completely agree that it looks just like the original Starcraft. The thing you don't realize though is that this is Starcraft 2: Korea Edition. The difference being that the KE is basically Starcraft 1.75 (assuming Broodwars counts as 1.5) and is there to keep Blizzard's largest Starcraft fanbase happy, since Blizzard would still make a killing if Starcraft 2 were ONLY released in Korea. But for the rest of us they have a special surprise in store, to be shown off later after everyone outside of Korea has gone back to other things and everyone in Korea has stopped paying attention until 2015 when they start looking for a Starcraft 3 announcement. That's when they'll announce the "real" Starcraft 2 which is a full re-envisioning of the RTS genre, exclusive to the non-Korea regions.
And you thought Blizzard was just rehashing and cashing in on their old franchises? SHAME ON YOU!

OMFG, that's what I thought, too! They must have grunt jobs in the mail room or something, do they get free sushi too!??! Where's the application!??!
How many protection measures have to be ruled ineffective before they declare the law ineffective?
Well MY grandpa had to walk three hours each way, through the snow, to get his pictures made out of tiny vibrating strings. AND it was uphill BOTH ways. AND they were only in black and white!
It's like I always say, "If I ever need a lawyer the first place I'll look is an apple product dealer!"
Ok, so when will microsoft try to buy it?
Now if only we could get it to run on abstract ideas, say a monkey dance perhaps, and we'll rule the world!

I am attempting to say "Windows Vista" [allow] [deny]
I do it the other way. I compare windows against everything, even a mac or nothing at all. It usually comes up wanting.

Even then Bluray wins. Because the Matrix SUCKS!

How's that Chinese Hi-Def DVD looking? I assume they're not going to have any DRM, just like their current DVDs, right?
