As far as installation goes, sure. But I've yet to get a 7xxx series driver to give decent performance and/or not crash my x server. In fact, this has been a pretty constant problem post 6111 with my 5900xt.
Exactly. GP should know by now that apple fanbois always use apple market speak when talking about apple hardware. I've talked to more than one person who said that the G5 was "the world's most powerful personal computer" (word for word from the ads) right around the time that the G5 came out.
Proof please. Because I've used their stuff and I have to disagree.
Can we please bring this one-sided "debate" of apple being better than everyone in form and function to an end? You guys sound like cable news commentators talking about how great republicans are.
If you're having problems, something is definitely wrong. My iBook and Mac mini run continuously day and night with no hitches
I hear that a lot from windows users, but I don't believe them either. Though congrats on getting a mac that doesn't crash (two no less!), I hope that continues to work out for you.
discarding the GPL entirely for a BSD or other license.
Maybe one or two projects would go that way, but given that the whole concept of BSD is so drastically different than GPL, there isn't going to be any mass migration, or likely any at all.
Not to say that people won't jump ship from GPL (which they might, though I don't see why they wouldn't stick with 2.0), but it sure as hell isn't going to be to a BSD license.
With electronic paper, you simply "print" to the medium and take it with you to wherever - the boss's office, home, a meeting room, the bathroom... Doesn't matter.
It'll matter when you need warranty service. Good luck getting them to take it back after it's been flagged for having been in the bathroom!
Yeah, I reckon it is. Though it's less than a 100 foot run. I think it's got something to do with the furnace and chimney being in the way.
Anyone got a sweet idea how to boost the signal around something like that since running CAT5 isn't really an option since it'd have to go down two hallways and a flight of stairs?
Sierra On-Line has prior art, as well: Phantasmagoria II had a main character who hallucinated and saw the walls bleed as he descended into madness.
Further proof software patents are stupid.
This might be a stupid patent, but neither of those seems to even be relevant. This patent is clearly for a system like the one in Eternal Darkness, which is clearly the game design they were trying to "protect" by filing the patent.
From TFA:
A character's sanity level is modified by an amount determined based on a character reaction to the occurrence such as taking a rest or slowing game progress and/or an amount of character preparation.
I don't remember either Sanitarium or Phantasmagoria II basing their "sanity" effects on a player's ("character" in the language of the patent) action. I'm not sure how well that language could really hold up though, since "character" doesn't necessarily mean it has to be an interactive element of the game.
Blu-ray is going to be in PS3 and HD-DVD is apparently in Xbox 360.
Microsoft claims that HD-DVD drives will be available later in the XBox 360's life cycle (as a new version or an upgrade or something), but the unit shipping in November uses a standard DVD drive.
Stop encouraging creationists. It isn't helping anyone, especially when you try to use something completely unrelated as the basis for that encouragement.
Ok, that's probably the fifth time I've seen that on/., so I've got to ask. What exactly is wrong with NFS on Linux? I'm assuming it isn't something one would notice with a small number of systems on a network, since that seems pretty solid to me.

The poster probably runs windows, so what's your point?

Royalties.

Most UT2k4 patches don't require you to apply them to play online, regardless of the version the server is running.
Make up your fucking mind, netcraft!!!!!

How much good would this really do? I can't even get decent wifi connections to a computer on the other side of my house!

No, you get to pay for what the idiots around you vote for.
Ok, so fewer than games with 50 Cent!
Well isn't it obvious that space travel is just too complex to have come about without an Intelligent Designer?
So would ASC Games, makers of Sanitarium.

Sure you're not confusing Betamax and Betacam ?
Powerpuff Girls Z? So they're going to make like 5 million episodes of that and then put out PPGGT, right?

"If you have kids who are driven to learn"
That whooshing sound you hear is the joke flying right over your head.
