    Somehow I think that if police finds 1000 pictures with nude children on your laptop you will have lot's of troubles. Even if they will not be "sexually suggestive posing".

    Umm... because they're a company and don't give a rat's rear about you?

    Let's calculate. One customer pissed off vs. thousands of cheap "imports" from countries where you couldn't charge 35 quid for a game because copying rates are already higher than the US national debt.

    They sell it for cheap in Thailand so obviously they still earn money from it. So basicly they are ripping off UK customers.

    They could sell this game in UK for Thailand price and still earn money. Maybe even more because people who don't buy games for 50 pounds will buy them for 5 pounds. And those who can afford 50 pounds for gaming could buy 10 games instead of one.

    Guess what? She was right about it! If kid has such emotional problems his parents should not let him contact strangers. Especially on the net.

    My kids can't talk online nor use online games until they grow up. Simply because you just can't be sure who they are talking to. Blame the parents not this stupid bitch.

    That is not a bug. It's a feature.

    It's not a call for taking freedom away from Linux. It's a call to give Linux standards.

    Standards are very important in IT. Sadly a lot of Linux parts change too often or exist in too many flvours. Developers have problems with testing applications and users have problems with getting help.

    It "looks like" but it's nothing alike. It's more lik a banning someone from using public roads instead of invalidating his driver's licence.

    If you want it to be like road regulation they should ban the usage of P2P program which was used by the offender. So if you used Gnutella you can't use it for a year.

    It all went downhill for them after they stopped showing the Beavis and Butthead episode where they make a hairspray torch because some dumbass kid copycatted and done burned his house down.

    They want to eat cake and have cake. They want to play a song but not with "bad words". I think that if they don't like those words they should not play the song at all. If I was an artists I would sue them for messing with my creation.

    I'm not a security or crypt expert, but I can't imagine how anyone can expect this kind of security to remain secure for 10 years.

    Well, should they used Brainfuck as a base language for VM than it would take a lot longer than 10 years to decipher.

    Not really. You have to shield keyboard only and make it send encrypted information to computer. Much easier than shielding the house.

    You give up too soon. If it's OpenSource than fork it. Rename VIM to YourCompanyName Visual Editor and present to your boss as such.

    As far as I know it's legal. You can rename forked GPL code and do what you want with it as long as you keep copyrights intact etc.

    They won't object to applications written inside their corp, will they?

    The problem with patents is not so much that they are issued left right and center for just about any stupid claim.

    You are wrong. It's the source of the problem.

    The courts seem to assume that a issued patent is by default valid where this is clearly not that case. At least not currently.

    See, now you are on to it. The courts assume the patent office is working as intended. They assume that PO is rejecting "wrong" patents. It's how they should work. The way to improve this is not lowering court costs but improving PO work.

    Yes but it's only ok if this information belongs to you. Librarian only manages this information. He doesn't own it. He should keep it secret unless told by the judge.

    What about old space ships cover - ablative cover? The thing generates lots of gases when heated effectively shielding inside from energy weapons. On another note: I didn't know AlQuaida has lasers now.
