Sorry, but I couldn't resist replying to your sig. See, I have a 45-mile commute 1 way, and I travel along at 80 mph. I did the math and found out I save 7 minutes, 47 seconds vs. going 65 mph.
So yeah, I have to pass that guy:-).
You gain no information about the envelope in the hat from the fact that the 8 others all got a "Sorry". This was a happenstance occurrence and it was possible that one of the 8 could have won. In the Monty Hall problem, he uses his knowledge of which door hides the car in order to avoid that door, thus giving you, the switcher, more information. So in the hat drawing, there is actually a 50:50 chance you'll win if your 8 competitors each get a "Sorry". Now, if they all somehow purposely made sure that they got "Sorrys", then you should switch. But if they got them by pure (un)luck, then your odds are now 50:50.
The first choice may be theatrics, but it also restricts Monty's options. You are determining with your first choice what doors Monty has to choose from, and 2/3 of the time, you will force Monty to choose the *only* other goat-hiding door. 2/3 of the time, Monty will have to avoid the car, which means you should switch.
Open a folder, "Select All", drag into destination folder. And let all the subdirectories replace the other folder's subdirectories? Why should I have to manually recurse when my file browser should do this for me? OS X is the last OS that should require command line operations for a simple directory merge!
When merge is the default mode of operation, a replace is easy: I can simply delete the old folder and drag over the new one.
When replace is the default, there is no easy way to merge.
Treating folders just like files doesn't make sense here.
Don't get me wrong, I love my Mac. (Despite the uselessness of the Finder and of the [Home] and [End] keys.)
36.QGDQ.684591..CD? What company/region does the CD stand for? AT&T circuits out west end in PT (Pacific Telesis), Verizon circuits out here end in GTEW (GTE West) or sometimes GTCA (GTE California). Just curious.
Yeah, just the metadata. But like the submitter was saying, using an XML file to track the metadata for that much music is not very efficient. A "real" database will have much less trouble with 100,000 songs than an XML file will.
(I have ~40 GB of music, which is about 5500 tracks, so I'm guessing that his is probably on the order of 100,000 tracks give or take)
Don't forget that Amarok can use PostgreSQL or (I believe) any other standard database for handling it's database. I'm sure that will make dealing with 750 GB of music MUCH more efficient.
I am also a Libertarian, and found that quote funny. The actual quote is longer, and I don't know who to attribute it to, but since/. caps the sig to 120 (?) characters, I had to modify it.

I believe you're talking about the Loop Fire. There are some interesting articles on it at that site as well.
Flash your high beams right in someone's rear-view? That's dangerous.
Actually, whenever someone behind me flashes their lights, and I am in the fast lane, then I take it as a request for me to switch to a more appropriate lane and allow them to pass. A request I always honor. Someone flashing their lights is a helluva lot less rude than them hanging on my ass, and gives me an opportunity to notice them (since I obviously didn't notice them the first place).
The problem with people on the road today is that they always ascribe the worst possible attitude to others' actions. I interpret others' actions in the politest way possible.
And no, a quick flash of the high beams is not dangerous, c'mon.
They weren't neo-nazis you freak. They were Arabs who kidnapped Israelis.
and to quote the grandparent:
But since the 1972 olympics security failure, and neo-nazi activities,
Notice that "and"? Your parent poster did not say, "which were," he said "and". He was making a (short) list of things that would tend to make Germany a not-so-friendly-to-terrorists type of place. It wasn't a statement about those that did the kidnapping... you freak:-)
I've had a couple of cars with a factory Bose system, and although they *do* sound better than normal stock systems, they are by no means comparable to any mid-level setup you can put in yourself from Best Buy (or equivelant). I've installed many stereos myself. They've ranged from shitty to very great sounding. I've learned that it had little to do with the components I selected and more to do with the car I was working with and they way those components were installed. Never again will I attempt to make a '96 Sentra sound great. Never could find all those rattles and resonances!
If that "sucks", your service must come with free hookers or something.
I think you have it backwards...

It all depends on how much the goat is worth!

Yes, this is a reply to a sig. Mod me down

I'm only replying to erase my accidental 'Overrated' moderation. I meant 'Funny', but damn that AJAXey moderation, I can't undo it!
That's the standard grammar of news articles. Drives me nuts.
That is one of the best quotes I've read in a long, long time!

Per your definition, only the plural form may refer to either sex. In it's singular form, guy always refers to a male.
