Some people used to think that Windows vs. Mac was the holy war. The real holy war is going to be between those who want to have freedom for their computers, and those who wish to take this away. (Microsoft/SCO vs. Linux?) I even see this trend in cellphones. Alltel used to be known for selling phones which were not locked or restricted in any way, unlike Verizon. Now, they are pushing a software update for their Razr2 which will take AWAY its ability to use an mp3 on your memory chip as your custom ringtone. They want you to have to buy your music from them now. (Kinda the way the movie theater only wants you to buy THEIR popcorn for $8 a bag.)
Unfortunately, I don't think enough people will be technically enough aware to see what's going on, and these companies will get away with murder.
(Come to think of it, it seems that human history is filled with evil bastards wanting to take somebody's freedom, and the unwilling victims resisting more or less vigorously. And usually, the evil bastards end up with their heads on a spear... eventually.)
Then the government can tell the telecoms to destroy all documents relating to this. The telecoms can tell any future investigators that those records were destroyed, please refer to the current administration. Who have probably since moved to Dubai.
I see you're trying to parallel park. Can I assist you? Hey, now you like kinda angry. Please calm down. Count to ten. Wait! What are you doing?! Don't throw me out the window! Wait! Hey! Help!!!!
Mistakes: It could be that the purpose of your life is only to serve as a warning to others.
Hogan!!!
Then post the whole contents of his reply email, with his name. A reply at all was more than I would have expected.
As God as my witness, I thought laptops could fly!
Doesn't Paramount own the trademark on HoloDeck? And would this be too close for comfort?
Not only that, but do they have little brands so you don't get them mixed up with someone else's bees?
So even if I can disable Secure Boot, does this mean I have to go into the UEFI and re-enable it each time I boot back to Windows 8?
At best, this is going to be a pain in the ass for people who dual boot.
So this would appear to preclude any possibility to dual-boot Windows 8 and and just about anything else?
Am I right?
Read UEFI as UFIA. On further review, yep, that's about right.
Came in here looking for a Halo reference, leaving satisified.
Justice Dept ought to just look at AT&T, say, "We split you up before, we can do it again if you like, hmmm? So siddown and STFU!"
Where do you think Carl Sagan got most of his ideas?

Wasn't there something like this in "Hunt for Red October" as well? Like a computerized chart table.
This is what's going to happen when the TV's go blank.
Where are you?!?
Now THAT is the (accurate) headline I want to read!
I see you're trying to parallel park. Can I assist you? Hey, now you like kinda angry. Please calm down. Count to ten. Wait! What are you doing?! Don't throw me out the window! Wait! Hey! Help!!!!
Were they ever reporters? (I do know they were Arabic-type people once. Malice in the Palace?)
