(I'm replying to this because I can't find how to reply to the main article under Slashdot's new interface. Where da buttons?!?)
Anyhow, I noticed today that as I was doing all the latest Windows updates on a new system I'm building, IE7 is no longer listed as a critical update. At least I could not find it. I wonder what else I can't find today.
You want to bet that they (MediaDefender) should be more worried about what their clients make of the emails about them? 'Cuz you know they have a copy, and they ARE reading them. Can't unscramble an egg.
This is so good. It's like reporting your stash of marijuana stolen to the police. To DMCA it is to validate its contents. All they can do is claim ignorance and say it's all a hoax.
I saw that movie on IFC a while back. If anybody made a time machine, it would probably be by some nerdy guys in a garage somewhere. No typical Hollywood special effects: flashing lights and machines that go bing! It felt more like a documentary than a movie. Very interesting.
And Rosa Parks simply could have refused to ride on the bus... (yes, I hate drawing the analogy, forgive please.) The true heroes are those who do those things that most of us don't have the courage, time, and/or money to do. Civil disobedience is more of a nuisance to governments (of the law) than a Molatov cocktail.
I tried their software too. However, the program (v. 10, latest updates) will hang in the middle of an image creation, depending on which computer it is run on. I like the concept, but I feel like I've bought their beta product. (BTW, backing up the same hard drive, while connected to a different PC, works fine. I just want something that works reliably on a variety of different hardware.)
Ghost (v.7) worked great, but Symantec has not been improving that product in a while.
I had automatic reply setup on a Vax email system, and I forget the exact situation, but my auto-reply got into a duel with another auto-reply while I was at lunch. Anyhoo, 2 hours later I had some 1200 emails in my inbox, all auto-replies to another auto-reply, which was replying to my auto-reply, etc, etc, ad nauseum. Good times. (Da Da Ding-Ding Ding-Ding Ding-Ding Diiiing.)
Microsoft used to have a critical update called WGA Notification Tool (or something) that would appear if I was getting updates for a freshly installed XP SP2 system. Now, that update has disappeared on new systems which I build this way. I know this, because I would always de-select it along with IE7 for installation.
Of course, I'm sure it's just getting installed implicitly now, so you can't simply choose NOT to install it. But... has anybody been keeping a history over time of the various critical updates that Microsoft has put out, that it has in the meantime just quietly "disappeared?"
Even if it did, the patent would run out in 17 years(?). Then send in the patent trolls again. But any respite is welcome.
Funny. I was thinking the same thing. Only I was thinking they need to go get FUCKED.

Considering what my Mom did with all my porn the last time it was under her control... no.
So... Jack having sex with a human?
So how many people in Borneo know of Jack Thompson?
Is that a fish in your pocket? *bzzzzzz*
What do you think?

Now that's really unfair to pinheads...
If the owner is not you, you OK it with owner first. This is just common sense. This is not all about "Corporate America."
And we liked it! We loved it! Higgity-piggity-poo! Look at me, I'm a pogo-sticking, drop-deading jackass!
No, that was him releasing his bowels.

Look at some of the parent's other posts here. English sucks as a second language.

Hope they're not Li-ion.
I agree, but RELIGIOUCIST is way too hard to say, spell, and I'm not even sure it's a word. Nope, no scrabble points there.

All I want for Christmas is Darl's two front teeth.

I'll never look at 3-in-1 Oil the same way again. I had no idea.
