Very doubtful, but thanks for starting my Friday off with a chuckle.
Linux didn't prop up a failing Unix market. Big iron would still be around without linux and it would probably be as expensive as ever.
Before the next expansion? They're likely not going to do anything except raise the level cap and put more end-game content in, that most casual players will never see. Yes, I'd call that an expansion. What else would you like?
Fuck you, and people like you.
It's a game, it's fun. My son and I have a great time playing it. It's like the game Simon, turned up to 11.
My son and I were playing a Black Sabbath song. At the end we both spontaneously threw the horns.
That was fun as hell.
Nobody playing Guitar Hero thinks they're playing a guitar, no one.
We have a good time, This should be a ***REAL BIG HINT*** to you.
Clue, Programming is boring to almost every one, listening to music and playing a game is boring to almost no one.
Considering real Rock Stars ALSO play and enjoy Guitar Hero, I think They get that it's a game to.
Guess what? Wii tennis, isn't real tennis either! And GTA IV isn't killing real people.
Why can everything else be emulated and extracted out onto a game, but not playing an guitar?
I can play Guitar Hero, AND go to a concert.
As a bonus, my children and I are now talking about music, and I can engage them in a conversation about guitar rifts on the radio, using Guitar Hero as a point of reference.
My children are 10 and 7, both know more about music than I did.
So Guitar Hero: Epic Win
You: Epic Lose This.
I didn't like the idea of leveling from 60 to 70 and initially I was upset that they made all of the level 60 content useless. Now that I've been 70 for a couple months and I'm starting into Kara I have found new life in game. I'm a casual player and they have made a lot of higher level content available to players like me - stuff I would otherwise never get to see.

You can't. It's up to him to realize that he's lost touch and has hit the bottom. It doesn't look as bad to him as it does to you right now, but everyone has a limit. He will hit it some day.
Walking away from him may be hard, but it may help him in the long run.
Sorry what happened to your friend, sometimes it's tough to keep reality in perspective. You gotta eat/drink and sleep or your body WILL shut down on you.
I like to get on 3 to 5 times a week and love running instances so many nights I'm on from 8 until midnight. Let me tell ya, 4 hours is quite a long time to sit in front of the computer screen and move electrons around. I know the "hardcore" players will tell you otherwise, just my 2 cents. Sometimes I take a nice 3 to 4 day break from the game totally - it helps reset reality. Actually is the 4th day in a row I haven't really played so I can't wait to log on tonight!:-)
Yeah, he's definitely a rational mature individual. His country is one of the poorest in the world, but all he can spend his money on is his military. I'm not sure whether he is insane or not(IANOD), but his priorities are definitely fucked!
Why the hell would you defend this guy in any form whatsoever?
I don't agree with your extreme views. Here's a small list of what I do with my daughter during the evenings. We play Candy Land, we go swimming at the YMCA, we watch tv/movies, we go for hikes at the local park, we read books, we play on the computer, we play hide-and-seek, etc. I like diversity and showing her the world. Electronics are now part of our world so I don't feel the need to hide them from her.
Everything in moderation.
Sorry, no school age boy here - happy father of a 4 year old with another on the way.
If they'd give casuals sweet purple loot so we wouldn't have to join raiding guilds and become addicted like you did. Hehehe.
A friend of mine and I have been playing since last Christmas. We each have a level 60 and are working on our 2nd characters right now for fun - wanted to try a different class. We have managed to stay in casual guilds that are progressing slowly towards MC. I see this game being around for quite a while so what's the hurry? Could we go after joining a raiding guild? Yes, but we're trying to enjoy the ride to 7337 purples at our own pace.
Just gotta keep the game in perspective - it's only a game, not a life.
...but at least THEY are saving money.

I cannot possibly foresee a way that this could be turned against the public in some horrific Orwellian fashion.
I'm Senator Joe Biden, and I approve this message.
We're doomed...
Inconceivable!
A failure? How so?

The world needs ditch diggers too.

Bummer. Can I have your stuff?
I wish I could design a poorly written client/server infrastructure. /sigh

You mean we have to do more than just make them (kids that is)?
Nicely stated by the way.

Damn it...
I guess sending all of my alts a 5 gold startup fund is cheating too?

SHIP IT!
Basketball is one word.
You're not alone. My brother-in-law tried WoW on my trial coupon when I bought the game back in December and he didn't like it either.
To each his own.
