"With the all the baby boomers retiring over the next 30 years, there's going to be a lot of U.S. jobs but not enough people. I'm looking forward for a long and rewarding career."
Kinky eh? Did you hear him call the internet a work of satan during the Texas Gov. Debate? Granted I believe he was joking but it caught my attention;)
Mine is just a Beta III or something like that. I've got a ton of old recordings from when HBO first started and they were giving away access. I'm pretty sure I've got almost every bond film, and the original Star Wars taped. Eitherway Viva la Beta, no?
"Gung-ho Mac users think Apple has changed their life (for the better). Most people who buy iPods do it because its cool and cute (gag). The same people who bought iPods because they were cool are just going to move on to the next cool thing."
You jest, but you you speak the truth. To be honest, my first memory growing up was the day my dad bought our first mac back in 86 or 87 (ya I'm young...just remember it's my generation that'll be changing your dipers one day you babyboomers!). Ever since that day I've been fascinated by computers(macs) and technology, and have now graduated college and am working as a software developer. In a real sence yes apple did change my life for the better.
"I remember the days when Mac OS was looked down upon because it was "chatty"."
Man, don't get me started on that! In highschool I worked at a neghiboring school district supporting all the Mac's after I got out of school. Now whoever desigened that school distrcit's network was a real idiot, because the way they had it setup so that every Mac could talk to every other mac in the entire network. That wouldn't be bad except there were nearly a thousand macs. What ended up happening is when they were all powered on we would have rolling network outages, due to the chattyness of AppleTalk...Fun times I tell ya
I bought a nokia 6200 off of ebay (no camera, no crazy ringtones, etc.) for $15 on ebay. Works great love the "just a phone" mentality, and it had a great battery (2 weeks standby roughly)....though as with everything on ebay your mileage may vary.
"They're one of my favorites, as in "The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, U2, The Cure, New Order, The Prodigy, Radiohead, Bloc Party favorites"
Dang that pretty much summs up what I listen to, add in the Guess Who, Yes, Genesis, and some Southern Rock and that's me. Anyway I'll definitly check them out then, any recommended albums other then Silent Alarm?
Slight difference between adware and adsupported sites. Not saying that Opera was or was not adware, but you'd be a fool to not recognize the difference.
In high school I put together a paper on our nations "largest" renewable energy source....just think about it. Feed people McDonalds style crap till they're grossly fat. Then Suck it out of them and process it into fuel for cars! All we need to do is keep feeding them and sucking the fat out!;) (ya this is a joke)
Actually back in my college days. I had a friend who was really into downloading movies. One night we were going to watch a bootleg of Minority reoport, when instead we got Amilee. Wondering what the heck this was we proceded to watch the entire movie tring to figure out how we ended up with it.
Please recommend some bands/recordings to me. I've been tring to get into free/open live recordings, but havn't been able to find any I really enjoy. I'll listen to anything once, (aside from the hippy-hop music these dang kids are playing now days;) )
Or like when you finally make something idiot proof, someone comes along and makes a better idiot.

Crap I just realized that I spend way to much time on /. when I read an acronym and instinctively know the meaning.

Doesn't work, I speek from experience ;)
Actually ya it was pretty entertaining and we got into it oddly enough. I'll admit it's a fluke one off thing though.
