Its time to switch to Linux when you have dozens of old mac's that can run only old MAC OSes. With YD you can trun those (usless mac) machines in to servers, routers, firewalls etc.
I used to work for MS tech support. We had open hands and no time limits per call. Not many companies can afford this. I think the average time you can spend (in ohter companies) per call is around 7 min. After 7 min company is loosing money (SBC/Yahoo stat's). To avoid this some companies introduced 'one problem per call' policy.
Nobody can _afford_ to support people as MS.
Slightly off topic...
Did you ppl notice how amazon.com has most el. out of stock or discountinued? If I had amazon.com stock I would sell... sell I tell ya:-)

Not sure why this post is 'Redundant'. I find it rather witty. :-) hehe... its a good one!!
The main problem with OS X _server_ (that I see anyways) is the Aqua GUI. It sure looks good but do you need so many resources tied to a _server_ GUI?
That comment if probably form one of the mod loosers.
how stupid to ask the question. Apple is dying, that's why!
Did you mean "Beginning Programming for Dummies"?

Just curious; why would you want a home that can last so long?
I told him that I couldn't go into the Windows "Control Panel" because I'm not running Linux. LOL So WHAT are you running?

Mac's are more expensive and more proprietary (hadware and software) than anything else out there. How's that supposed to be 'better' for edu?
... :-) that is real funny.
My manager doesn't even know the difference between scripting and programming. PS. I work as a sanitation engineer in LA.
A good thing about bad karma is that you can say it as it is...

Apple has proprietary hardware AND software. They've been taking from OSS community. Apple even used the OSS name/reputation to sell OS X!
I wonder if you can have a decent subwoofer attached to Segway? :-)
It seems that there is no limit on how much some people can brown nose for a few karma points...get a life you troll!
Maybe one day we'll be able to ask Bill Gates a question or two trough the Slashdot.
Get a degree and you'll be in the market. Certifications are okay but on the long run nothing can compare to a degree in CS.
