My P3 866 on WinME runs better than everyone I know at the time. So yeah it's not the OS. Besides VXD drivers, I think it had something to do with VIA chipsets and ATi video drivers at the time. And those soundblaster live drivers at the time were quite violent. It took just one wrong step for a newbie to screw up the computer real bad.

I agree with you though. But it's decisions like these that tells us how primitive we really are. Remember these decisions are not from any one person but our collective as a whole. However you view it, we put ourselves in this situation. Perhaps we are not worthy of space after all, at least, not yet.
Death isn't scary. Go ask any prisoners serving a life sentence. That's what's scary. It'd be scarier if the guy who lock you up give you something to prolong your life but at the same time making sure you can't kill yourself in the prison. Think of that scene in Se7en. And then, do the same to everyone you know and put you all in the same room.

I agree HL2 is the best FPS so far in how it's like an addictive novel. You just can't put the mouse down and want to know what's next. But I never forget the refractive panels and the dynamic shadows in Doom 3. JC gives the tools to fellow developers to make more good stuff and I respect that.
so next time instead of a box cutter all they need is overclocking a cellphone? Will that disrupt the plane so much that the pilot lose control of the control surface, altimeter, landing gear, etc. If not the pilot should still be able to fly or land it.

If you don't like a server just pick another. I live in HK and hates all the HK, Taiwan, Mainland TF2 servers because there's no talking. It feels like you're playing bots all the time. So I switched over to a great LA server despite 180ms ping, enjoying every minute of it. If kiddies gets you mad just switch. Kiddies can't deal with lag and will not bother you in the new one.
