"I don't play WoW, but..."
But damned if it's going to stop you from acting like you have any frame of reference for what you're talking about. I guess if you don't play WoW, then you might not get it, huh? Maybe?
Aren't there enough topics on here to let you sound off on shit you actually know about?
It figures you'd post as AC, since that comment is so mind-bendingly ignorant/arrogant as to defy description.
Gamers now contend with a dizzying array of control schemes, play mechanics, and genres. As opposed to... what? ZORK?
Anyone that posts as AC has no real conviction anyway.
I def. recommend Mario Kart, Tetris when it comes out, and advance wars if you like strategy. Animal Crossing can be fun as well, though not as much a 2 player game. DOn't worry if you've aleady played MK to death... this version owns.
It's got the best set of non-threatening, hellaciously fun coop and vs. games. Mario Kart, Advance Wars, and on down the line. Most games have a handicapping feature, and all of them are fun. Plus, if competition isn't your thing, you can always pick up something like Animal Crossing and just have a good time.
I agree, it's totally up to them. But, from owning a DS and Gamecube previously, I can say that as far as any online system goes, they are clueless. I still can't find 4 people WORLDWIDE to play me in Mario Kart. From past quotes, they don't seem to get it.
I like the idea of these updated games- but, on the other hand, is a sign that nintendo needs to leave the hardware business and concentrate on games (ala Sega).
No republic has lasted longer than 300 years. That's not to say a civilization like Rome didn't last that long, but they switched governments several times, as have many countries. But the republic as we know it has never gone on longer than that.
I was ready to hate this thing, but after the vid and article i gotta say it looks awesome. I poo-pooed the DS too when I got my PSP, and guess which one I play more?
This thing may very well be the future of gaming, so I'm excited.
junkscience.com is a load of crap. They'll defend poisonous pesticides- and recently have- or any other danger if business can make money off it. Wonder why they're on a permant spot on the fox news front page?
Yeah, because that was my point, that games for post-teens must have sex in them to be "mature". You know, like Halo or God of War or Burnout 3. And unlike games that require me to talk, shake, or blow on my controller.
Remains to be seen? Profits down 80 percent this year, marquee title (Zelda) pushed back to 06, absolutely no info on the revolution (except some convolted new controller and the ability to buy nostaligia and download it), failure to cater to any audience above 13, and it remains to be seen? What, exactly, remains to be seen?
It's unfair to single out MS on this front- considering the PS3 will launch at 300+ with no harddrive, and the games will cost the same as 360. The development cycle is longer than ever- just take the Elder Scroll series as one example- and that obviously takes money. I'm suprised games didn't hit 60 earlier- I remember paying 70 for double dragon on the NES back in the day.
In short, I don't think this is an unreasonable price hike at all- and even if it is, ALL the console manufactures are adhering to it- not just MS.
I don't know about that rumor, but every nextgen game is listed on EB Games at a 59.99 pricepoint, across the board.
Also, a majority of future PSP games is 49.99.
This hobby is getting more and more expensive...
I'm out of mod points, so I'll just have to agree with it in post.
It sounds silly to blame a name for something not being as successful... or not. Ogg Vorbis? Granted, mp3 and AAC don't sound glamourous, but they at least sound... I don't, know... serious?
"The VP of marketing at Ford looked at me smugly: 'Well,' he said, 'just compare the number of Ford Focueses on the market to the number of BMWs, and it's clear that we're in the lead'."
The local EB said they hadn't sold one in a month. My friend owned one, we all played with a collective "eh". Underpowered, with minimal third party support and a dual screen gimmick that looks much better on paper than execution. The PSP, on the other hand, is really cool.
"Watered down ps2 titles?" Better than watered down N64 titles, that's for damn sure. Nintendo is fast on its way to being a software developer. They show a complete lack of interest or understanding of the older (re: older than 13) market, and keep trumping out the same franchises with slight tweaks.
...hot on the heels of the Halo 2 game review. Seriously, this offer has been gone over countless times in countless publications since its inception LAST YEAR. TechTV, among others, have run stories on it. New York Times has done the same. MONTHS AGO. I'm looking forward to the "Should we go to war in Iraq?" and "mp3: the future of music?" articles in the near future.
Actually, there are antitrust laws in place to prevent the complete stifling of competition. Throw out you Heritage Foundation pamphlet and grab your freshman economics book you obviously never opened. So you think that every company can do what it wants when it wants- and if the government doesn't intervene, it must be right. Not even in "capitalism", which you appear to have only a tenous, Fox-News grasp of to begin with. Only a FoxWatcher would throw around phrases like "unfair and biased" without having a clue what they were pertaining to. Thanks for enlightening us all with weak-ass justifications flavored with bullshit phrases like "it's called capitalism".
Oh, and your sig is moronic. By that rationale, we should never criticise something we've never suffered through ourselves (torture, etc.). Buy a fucking clue.
I'd bet 90 percent of complaints about linux stem from installation issues. I honestly don't think the issue is the usablility of the desktop- it's compatibility issues that appear during installation. Anyone can get used to the desktop. If Linux isn't preinstalled, though...
I had an experience with an older Gateway laptop. I literally tried 6 different distros, trying to find ONE that recognized my display. No luck. I browsed the forums, found some advice that ended up not working, and had to stick with windows on my laptop. I didn't even SEE the GUI on that machine.
...are two of the things I really like about the podcasts I subscribe to. Whether it's "slacker astronomy" or an introduction to Opera or the finer points of wine selection, I think it's great that these people with so much knowledge of eclectic subjects have a forum to talk about what they love. I find it fascinating, like having a great college professor that got you interested in something you would never have thought could be. Yeah, there's a lot of crap, but that's the case with every medium. I have three or four cued up every morning for my dreadful traffic-filled drive to work, and I'm finding new ones I like every day.
The bottom line is that it puts broadcasting in the hands of the people with an easy to use system that doesn't require esoteric knowledge of coding or anything else. It just requires a passion for you subject, and people certainly have that in spades.
but seriously. First Burnout 3, now Halo 2. The game's been out since November. If you're not reviewing this pre-release (or at least during the same month of release), please don't bother. What's the point of these reviews, and why are they front page?
I'm new to Macs. How can I get this code to run on startup? It seems to work perfectly, I would just prefer not to load it everytime I boot.
Help appreciated!

Don't look into 'em.

It's not free access. You pay for each title.

Bit misleading. And not quite as impressive.

Actually, that's on VH1. So no, MTV offers nothing :)
