How long has then "battle" been going on now? I don't see either giong away anytime soon and only after they are replaced by a new disc or medium. They will both sit around and when 1 goes so does the other. In the mean time, the combo drives that burn either format will dominate as their prices reach the same level as the format specific drives.
Just to claify, a ReplayTV does not "delete" commericals, it just skips over them. This can to toogled by the user and I believe that they are shipped with the box unchecked. Once the user checks the box to activate commerical advance, it can easily be turned off for any given show by pressinga button on the remote. As you can see "delete" is not the correct term so the original show is not altered in any way, just the viewing of said program. I would equate it to pressing mute of adjusting the color contrast or rewinding to rewatch a portion of the show. None of these things are disallowed.
I love getting all of my friends together on a whim after a hard day at work to play a pickup hockey game. I call them up around 7:00 PM and we meet within minutes at the local ice rink that is conviently empty and already has the nets up. I agree, I have no interest in playing sports video games. However, if it wasn't so damn easy to get a pickup game organized on short notice then I may feel differently. Besides I love golfing when there is 4 inches of snow on the ground it is -10F.
I'll concede this to you. From my experience, neither standalone box, Tivo nor RTV, work well with Satellite boxes. The DirecTivo is good because it is built into the box. In all other situations, I beleive ReplayTV is superior for the tech crowd.
1. Programming from the web is enabled out of the box. No hacking needed.
2. Ethernet port is included and active. I have never plugged a phone into my unit, ever. If you have multiple units on your network you can stream and setup recordings on remote units. This is without any addition cost/package (Tivo does this with the additional home media option.)
3. With a user made program (DVArchive) you can download the video with a few clicks and then burn with any DVD authoring software. The best part of DVArchive, is you can setup a PC to act as a server and stream any video back to the ReplayTV.
Maybe it is time for some of the Tivo faithful to move over to ReplayTV. I wouldn't give mine up. Tivo may be better of the average consumer but if for a geek, I think ReplayTV is the way to go.
1. I block all executable email at the server but PHBs will not let me block.zip files.
2. After two managers complained that they couldn't install any of software that they wanted because they didn't have Admin priviledges, the PHBs decided that everyone should have Admin rights so they could install anything that they want "within reason."

Or Alice in Wonderland as a horror/action game.

Your ideas interest me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter. (Tell me more???)

Seeing as the reviewer is so cheap, I wonder how he obtained the book in order to review it?
A man walks into a bar. His friend ducks.
I'm sorry... And why is that a bad thing???
It's like charging users of MS Word a license fee per document.
You're jumping too far ahead. They don't plan on doing that until Q3 2006.
Assuming that OS X is free with the purchade of an iWhatever, I agree as well.
Bloody brilliant, I say.
I agree with this post.
I agree with this post...
Or does this post agree with me?

I think your missing something here: Gore Vidal != Al Gore.
The Osbourne Fiasco.
FWIW, I just ate lunch at Burger King and they serve Coke products as well.
As in they are going to a federal pound me in the... nevermind.
Yeah, because their are so many news shows that are animated. I can understand the possible confusion.
Maybe "Just"... "You do it to yourself..."
What does Final Fantasy Tactic Advanc... Oh, nevermind.
