Except for the Roman Colosseum, which was completed in 80 CE, and had a retractable awning, and it lasted for hundreds of years until it was damaged by severe earthquakes and torn apart for its bits and peices to further other construction in Rome.
I thought that it was a mighty fine review, not having seen the movie (and not really planning until some sucker buys the DVD) this will save me $5.50.
I especially like Mr. Ebert's comment at the end...
Walking out after "Silent Hill," I thought of that lonely pilot light, and I understood why I failed to understand the movie. My damn brain lit up too much.
That just about sums up what it takes to enjoy a videogame movie, just one synapse firing.
It means learning a set of new rules, and a lot of people don't want to do that even if they can be transferred to so many other types of games.
I would suggest drawing them into the system with an easy to play one-shot game. Try to keep things as simple as possible and show off the best parts of the system and how it compares and contrasts with D&D.
I'm going to put on my nerd hat, just like everyone else here.
Kobolds are by no definition stupid. They possess an intelligence rating (from the archetype in the Monster Manual) of 10, which is decidedly average.
This is just supposition now, the puny thing with 4 hit points isn't going to just stand there and let you hit it even if it only has two brain cells to rub together./nerd
I had more or less the same experience with Everquest II, and it really made me pine for WoW. Load screens every couple of feet really don't encourage me to go around and explore the world, but at least in DDO you're not missing all that much.
The Olympics cost an awful lot of money to stage, mostly for the host country that has to build the facilities to house the games and the athletes. Corporate sponsorship is one way to defray such costs (or you know, line some pockets).
Why is this here? Some little fanboy's idiot cravings to redo films, is that news?
Have you guys seen other films with Heyden Christiansen? He's not a bad actor.
Yes he is, he's a terrible actor. All he can do is play wooden and whiny, and possibly a gay prostitute. I'm just going to assume that 90% of this was tongue-in-cheek.
No, it's not a free bump up the speed pole. The cost of a faster processor has already been built into the price of the machines, it's just like that bag of M&Ms that says you're getting 35% more for free, it's just a marketing gimick.
That has been one of the foremost questions on my mind, how do they rationalize charging $500 for a gaming platform/blue-ray player but $1500 for the stand-alone blue-ray player. I mean, if the job of a cheap console is to recoup the money on games, can't it be the job of a cheap DVD player to recoup money on DVD sales?
Am I paying to look at the advertisements or are the ads serving to defray the cost of my subscription. I know that I would rather see the latter, but it seems unlikely given the way that companies work.
Okay, now I don't know much about young girls, but I have to say that during the period that they'd be most influenced by TV characters I don't think thatthey'd be watching Soaps. I mean, correct me if I'm wrong but the target audience of day time television isn't the person that is likely to get off their ass an enter into science or engineering.
Naw, he stopped before he got this gig with Wired. He's been doing stuff at slumbering.lungfish.com, his blog with some Lore Comics and that sort of thing.

Are you in college or high school?

Blasphemer!

I'm sorry, but after they work on the visual look are they going to fix the auditory sound?

So this new monkey movie should be done in another twenty minutes or so?
How does one get into making porn, I don't know any people that are really dead on the inside. Any pointers?

Okay, that clears up a lot.

I think that no matter what format it's in, Hitch, isn't going to look that good.
I don't really think that the FCC needs to see a nice and slick model, just a proof of concept sort of thing. It does look pretty crappy though.
The simple solution is to learn to use your right hand like a normal person.
Look how much press and play Geometry Wars has been getting, more than any other 360 launch title.
Which is an amazing accomplishment considering the great depth and breadth of 360 launch titles. (/sarcasm)
That's right, because every $.99 is pure profit for apple
The really important questions.

I for one welcome our new cinematic overlords.

Plus, you don't have to send your dirty pictures off to the local photo developer with a digital camera.
