I remember using it for a while before it went TU. It really was ahead of it's time. BitTorrent really reminds me of hotline, sorta. I remember trading files on IRC the moved on to hotline. It was a sad dark time between hotline and bit torrent.
On this note, I started gettit mod points a few months after I joined. I rarely post, I usually let most of the mod points expire, and I never meta-mod. I do have excellent karma though. Oh yea, and I get mod points about once every other week.
It's funny how little linux fanbois understand that employees HATE change, not just managers.
I write fairly simple software for an accounting package we sell. This sytem has a DOS version and a windows version. For one customer, we ported the DOS version to windows a few years back and there were people contemplating retirement rather than learning the new system.
When the software you use is a tool and not your life, people don't give a rats ass what it is, as long as it doesn't change. I've seen it over and over again with various customers and in our own office. They don't want the look of their windows to change, their icons to change, or their frickin' wallpaper to change. Now you take them into an enviroment where nothing is familiar and you'll have morale problems and decreased productivity.
Hehe, I tried to get my fiance to marry me on Sept 19. I thought we could go tho the Pirate ship place (Pirates of the Caribbean??) in Las Vegas, be married by a pirate captain, on a pirate ship, and do the ceremony in pirate talk. I told her it was the only way I would get married in Vegas.
I'm not sure if I could have gone through with it if she had said yes, but it was a safe bet she wouldn't. It would have definatly been memorable though.
Interesting...the version I just read stated the city (New Jeruselem) was 12,000 furlongs (1/8th of a mile according to google), which is 1500 miles. With either measurment it's a big city.
Rev 21:16
And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.

Yes, and all a cop would have to do is drop a baggy of coke in your backseat to bust you for possession w/intent to sell. If an agent of the goverment is out to get you, and is willing to break the law himself, he will. It's been this way for a loooong time.
As said elsewhere, only a dog that is trained specifically for protection work is worth relying on for personal/property protection. Otherwise, some nice juicy steak or even just a pat on the head will "disable" the dog.
IIRC, the "captured" Russian MIGs usually came from Soviet pilots who were defecting to the United States. They would fly their planes to US/US Allied bases and turn them over in return for a life in the US.
I dunno, I think the brick shitting was the funniest thing I've seen on TV.

Oh man, the "continue from last session" feature is what did it for me with Opera. Once I learned about that neat little feature I never went back to another browser. Between that, the mouse guestures, and the side panel thingy, I've been in heaven.
I just wish it had better javascript error reporting for debuggin JS. The javascript console in Firefox is the best error reporting I've found so far.
The thing about a bathroom is you can turn on the shower very hot, causing a lot of steam. This will cause all of the lint, fuzz, and bellybuttong gunk to stick to something, leaving the air a little more dust free.
I'm talking out my ass here because I've never served, but I have had friends who have served.
From what I understood, the fear and intimidation was mainly reserved for the first month or so of basic. After basic, you had been reshaped into a soldier and it was ingrained into you to obey your superiors. I could see them using this type of modification after a soldier had made it through basic training and had moved into field operations.
Really though, I don't know how usefull it would be for the military. Being awake and alert is one thing, but being fearless is stupid. Fear is what allows you to duck when bullets fly your way. A fearless soldier is to likely to charge into a situation where keeping your head down would be a better option.
The problem I have with the "one world government/mentality" idea is that this "one world" would probably not be governed by the United States Constitution. If I have all of the freedoms and guarantees put forth by the US Constitution I would be fine with it. By this, I don't mean that the world should be governed by the United States, but rather any world government should use our Constitution as it's own. Otherwise I don't want to play.

Sooooo what's up with that?
Eddie Torez, the extra testicle?

Welcome to communist China. Please check your freedoms and liberties at the door.

Or something like that.
Finally I'll know whether the light turns out or not!
Yea, food and medicine. That's what Iraq was buying with that oil...sure.

P4 2.8Ghz in about 118 seconds with a crapload of other stuff running in the background.

Give it ten minutes.
Frankly, it looks like Apple took over FreeBSD.
I dunno about them, but I know I would. Depending on what it was and where you are I'd pay for shipping even.
