Don't get me wrong, I love linux and it's all I use, but RDP is unbeatable in speed. Nothing i've used comes anywhere near close. RDP is VERY usable on even a single channel ISDN line. Daniel

  9. OT: Bluetooth with T610 on Is Bluetooth Dead? · · Score: 1

This is a bit off topic. I have a Sony Ericsson T610. I'm trying to figure out some sort of functionality out of linux. No applications, anything. Everything I find is sort of patchy and half working. In fact, that really goes for Windows too. It seems MacOS is the only platform that really has fully functional bluetooth capabilities.

I agree 100%. I wish there was a way to turn off Autocopy. I haven't found one yet. It's a pretty annoying feature.

    Luckily Control-C and Control-V work.

Another annoying thing: If you do a Control C (in Xfree) to copy, then close the application you copied out of it erases it from the 'clipboard'. That's annoying.

  12. My Opinions: on Top 10 Software Titles Every Home PC Needs? · · Score: 1

My Personal Opinions (Apps I can think of):

Mozilla Thunderbird: Email client that's still in Alpha but has never given me one problem.

Mozilla Firebird: Greatest web browser around today. Here are some reasons why.

Krusader/Windows Commander: Great file managers. Windows Commander is (obviously) the windows original and Krusader is the KDE based *nix one.

Open Office: You already mentioned this one

GAIM: Best IM client avaliable (I know this isn't exactly productivity software).

    AVG Anti-Virus : Free non-commerical use anti-virus.

PuTTY: Telnet/SSH/Rlogin, everything you need for remote access.

    XMMS/Winamp: Media Players

I am still looking for good financial software. Microsoft Money is the best I've found so far.
