Why don't they just inform people that they can stop the pop-ups without any sort of action on the customers' part? Then instead of being shot down by privacy advocates, they would be applauded by their customers for helping them out with something (somewhat) complicated.
Of course, they ARE AOL users, so who knows how they'd react.
Great, you can go ahead and accept all of this. The rest of us will continue to tell you to piss off while we try to hold on to whatever rights we can.
Okay, but how is this different from the jerks who write their PINs on their banking / debit cards? I'm sure they run crying to their bank when their bank cards get stolen.
I can't say that the idea of my cell phone being MORE attractive to theives is realy all that appleaing, but the ease of use sort of makes up for it. We'd all have to be a little more cautious and careful with how we handle ourselves, and in return, we'd have all this convenience. Give and take, right?
iTunes works with other music-playing devices - you just have to rip your personal CDs into mp3 format, or import mp3s from whatever you used before. What does NOT work with other music-playing devices is the AAC format, including ripped CDs AND iTunes Music Store purchases.
The fact that Windows users are being confused and lead astray about the difference between iTunes and iTMS (the Music Store) and are somehow misunderstanding that you can use the former without even touching the latter is really frustrating.
No, it's for wheeled vehicles. It's illegal in my state to use Rollerblades or skates on a sidewalk, let alone a bike or a skateboard. Just because they're built poorly doesn't mean you have the right to be adick.
For the record, bikes skipping up lanes when everyone is stopped at a red light isn't illegal unless they're doing it between two lanes; if they do it between the right lane and the edge of the road (or in the far right part of the right lane) it is perfectly legal.
Next time a bike is acting like a dick and not letting you pass it, look around again and see if maybe it's just not safe to pass. Not all bicyclists are dicks, and I know they're not all correctly behaved all the time, but if it isn't safe for you to pass them, they won't let you. Simple as that.
No, I don't think that people intentionally get SUVs so that they will hurt pedestrians more, but they do get them so that they will survive vehicle to vehicle accidents.
How many times have you heard about an SUV being built like a tank? Why would you need that - for the deer that are apparently so common, or for the hundreds upon hundreds of vehicular accidents that happen every day?
Thank GOD these people can afford the SUVs - that way more fuckheads like yourself will be able to survive vehicular accidents with people who drive smaller, more fuel efficient cars, thus eradicating that nasty liberal knee jerk reaction that is apparently so fucking common.
Because more people like you in the world is really what we need.
There are so many children in the world who have no parents, and these are the lengths to which people are willing to go to have their own biological children?
It's not enough that she can carry a baby to term, it has to be with her own genetic material?
I just don't understand why this is such a great thing. Creating more children for the people who are wealthy enough to pay for this instead of adopting the children that already exist, woo. Pardon me if I'm not excited.
Somebody developed this already, but only for use on ther phones. Read NYTimes technology - it's a cradle so that when someone calls your cell phone, it is immediately directed to either your home landline or your work landline (you can specify which). One number for people to reach you.
Let me get this straight - not only do you know what millions of people like, but you also happen to know how hot that specific McDonald's served its coffee that specific morning that the woman spilled it?
Quit wasting your time on/., dude, you're obviously too smart for the rest of us.
From the story: "But not only were they illegal, like debuggers--you could not install one if you had one, without knowing your computer's root password. And neither the FBI nor Microsoft Support would tell you that."
Well, good for me, then, since Microsoft couldn't possibly know the password for my iBook.
Intelligent reasons why I'd choose a Mac over another machine?
I get more done. I don't know how to explain it, but I get so much more done on this than I ever did on my PCs.
And you know, there's something to be said for asthetics. I hear people make fun of this reason all the time, but why shouldn't I want to look at something pretty if I am going to be looking at it for long periods of time? What's wrong with wanting to see something asthetically pleasing when I sit down at my computer?
The internet could be used to hatch plans. So could the USPS. So could telephones. Granted, not with the same sort of ease, but they could be used. Do we allow the government to track those, also? Do we allow our mail to be searched?

Hasn't it already been stated that, in most cases of this technology, it can't happen until you tie your bank account to your phone?
Therefore, no bank account, no tie to the phone, no problem giving your teenager a phone.

This part is making me crazy.

Mailonthe.Net doesn't pop up the messages, it opens them in another frame. I like the format better than Mail2Web.
No [sic] needed - rephrase the question and the "do" makes more sense than the "does" would - The geeks do use what pen?

Where would a girl find such an item?
Well, good for me, then, since Microsoft couldn't possibly know the password for my iBook.
(snarky snark snark. Apple users will reign!)
Always? You mean you get "stung," as you so quaintly put it, more than once? Dude, the domain name the link goes to is RIGHT THERE.
Hey, Joe. Fancy running into you here.

HER collection of used condoms. And I get rid of them weekly in a bonfire.
