Maybe I can get a variable named after me, then...
I'll bet green money that the dispute involved lava lamps in some way. As in, the airplane couldn't safely achieve liftoff due to the sheer volume of lava lamps. Or the pilot couldn't see, because of the giant lava lamp in the cockpit. Lava lamps are probably involved here.
I think that it goes without saying that Vegemite constitutes a form of format shifting, and it's been around for years. And it's inherent nastiness could be construed as a form of DRM.
Maybe since Australia was founded as a prison colony, their citizens are guilty until proven innocent. And that's why VCR's are illegal.
Please mod Troll. I'm so sorry.
If you want to reduce Repetitive Stress Disorder, spend less time typing and write less code.
I saw a demo of CodeRush (a plug-in for Visual Studio) where challengers were asked to complete a reletively simple task, racing against one of the presenters who was writing the same code, but using CodeRush. Oh, and the presenter was only allowed to type using a pair of chopsticks. The presenter always won, and probably doesn't have Repetitive Strees Disorder, either.
...is to be able to take a picture with my camera phone of a barcode on an item that I want to purchase. This would bring up comparison shopping info about the item, etc. If I want to buy the item, I'd just push pound or whatever.
The most compelling reason for me to choose DVD over going to a movie theater has nothing to do with how bad theaters have gotten. I just really like to see the bonus features after I finish watching a movie.
A lot of times I'll learn about a movie, and read reviews, decide it's a great movie that I really want to see, and deliberately wait for it's dvd release, just because I know the bonus features are going to be really good, and I want to see them right after I've seen the film for the first time. Syriana is a recent example of this (it also sounds like a movie that would bear repeat viewings, but anyway).
Maybe theater owners could do something like this: Print a password and url on every movie ticket sold, and set up a website that streams exclusive content, like the bonus features of the film you just saw in the theater. It would be a start.
Why play the gender card? We all judge on a case-by-case basis, don't we?
Although, I've noticed that most of my male friends are eihter brilliant or dumb, whereas my female friends lie across a broad spectrum.
No pun intended.
Everyone, including the author of this article, seems to forget the apple store in describing the second coming of Jobs. iPod and iTunes have been a boon for apple, but no one cares to speculate about how much a 'mall presence' had to do with any of it...
IMO, the store isn't a footnote here, it's a keystone.
I really think so. How long before those cheese-eating surrender monkeys come out with a card game that emphasizes tentacles and school girls? And cheese? Sacre-blue!!!
Can you believe that we get payed for playing games?!?!?
That, and tightening up the graphics.
The fact that the working conditions of game developers borders on Dickensian makes those commercials almost sad.
Train online at Collins College!
gtg, crunch time.
This sweet and economical rack was built in september of 2003. The project's worklog shows that the only changes have been swapping hard drives since then. It looks like a great file/web server. It's just not that topical.
I'm waiting for a water-cooled Beowulf cluster...now that would be something.
If a fraction of the latter were devoted to buying books and providing librarians for the library-starved children of California, the effort would be of far more use to humanity and society.
This is the passage that made me laugh out loud. I know I feel library-starved sometimes. And that's why I support the LSCOC (library-starved children of California).
I would definatly read this guy's blog, were he to start one.

"That, which it itches now in the fingers to try the DL firmware out it should realize itself the risks"
Makes you think about a lot of things. I'll carry that one to my grave.
Trey Parker and Matt Stone (South Park's creators, duh) were dismayed that Ebert pointed his coveted thumb in the 'up' direction in regard to "Reloaded", and expressed the following sentiment on one of those talk shows:
"Roger Ebert now gives 'thumbs up' to every movie because every movie has candy and hot buttered popcorn."
That can be the only explanation.
Reading the few positive reviews of this movie, it seems that the journalists who once were dyed-in-the-cloth fans of the concept of the Matrix feel the most pissed off by the lack of closure that Revolutions provides. I found myself skipping over to read reviews of Kill Bill, just to restore my sense of taste.
Why, oh why, didn't I take the BLUE pill?
Yes indeed...Slashdot should have a poetry category. Now I just gotta update "Whitey's On The Moon" for this modern age and hyperlink the heck out of it, and I'll be a blog star!
Ha ha ha! Well played! Maybe someday they'll have "Inside the Writers' Studio". Until then, the voice talent is who belongs on this show. I'm taping it. In Betamax. By the by, a "Writers' Studio" show would be fascinating.

I think that Roger Ebert would give games more of a chance if all games came with hot buttered popcorn, like movies.
