Most webpages all have a very similar layout so it just makes sense to begin looking for navigation bars on the left hand side. Why would you start elsewhere? Also most of the 'meat' of a page is in the middle, ie. ads are usually pushed off to the sides, so as far as starting from the middle goes, it just makes sense. People didn't come to see ads, they came to see content.

I've met some real a$$holes at the top, and also encountered quite a few very decent people at the bottom. First, to everyone who says "why would I want 5 speaker cabinets all over the place instead of one?". Simple, sound is largely effected by the shape of the room, not to mention what is contained in the room. With 5 drivers in one box the surround is simulated, bouncing the sound off the walls with different timings to simulate surround sound. Slight problem though, every room is not shaped the same so this box will only be optimally effective in a room with the dimensions it was designed for. In a real surround system you can make adjustments for the shape of the room. Try doing that with this box.
Second, this is actually a 1 speaker system, 2 if you count the sub. The one speaker contains 5 drivers. Before you flame the poster, check the terminology. A speaker consists of all the drivers and the physical box.
Third, If you really want to do yourself justice before you talk about how great a box like this is/would be. Take a visit to a local high-end audio shop. Compare a true surround system from say, B&W, driven by some nice amps through a good processor to this all-in-one box. The all-in-one wont sound so great anymore. In fact neither will that circuit-city bose crap. In short, as with most things you get what you pay for.
... and looked at the results, some were abysmal. Yes, this is still a ref. board, but it seems to run a game great for the price, or horrible for the price. Wolf ET is based on the Quake3 engine, yet Q3 is dramatically higher than Wolf ET (this card came in LAST place in Wolf ET), and this is wiht games based on the same engine. Sorry, I would rather shell out 175$ for a car that will consistantly perform decent across the whole spectrum, than pay 300$ for a card that is sometimes great and sometimes sucks.
For people who like music, like myself, and have a fair bit of money invested in a stereo setup, we want lossless music formats. A mp3 doesn't cut it. Just what I want to do, play a crap 128K mp3 through my Hafler Amp and B&W speakers. CD may very well die at the hands of DVD-A/SACD, but not at the hands of online music distribution.
