Bluetooth headsets - people talking to themselves on the street are n't crazy.
And now finally this phone where as you said, the people waving and talking aren't crazy either. Good god, in 5 years people with tourettes will probably be thought of as normal since society will have adapted to these people.
I think the people currently modding for HL2 just got a cool idea for a Half Life 2: Real World mod. Cool. But crap, that means I'll have to deal with aimbots while walking on the street.
"Move on... nothing to see here....unless you are a gadget freak and want to buy something that will no longer be offered in 6 months due to a lack of interest."
Hey! I have a whole room of n-gages I collected you insensitive clod!
Sooo....which do we think is the more likely scenario:
Scenario A) People who want to see the trailer will force themselves to go see Elektra, which they had no interest in before, only because Fox is so desperate to make some money on Elektra that they would go so far as to try to deny the power of the internet.
Scenario B) There will be a torrent posted here in 3...2...1...Who knows, we might end up with a torrent to the entire movie here before it has even been completed. Thus is the power of the internet.

G4 Drops TechTV Name

"Now they are going further away from the right thing."
While I personally agree with you, and can't even watch the channel anymore because of how disgusting its become, part of me wonders if we're just being fanboys.
I mean, while these seem like obviously dumb business moves to most of the/. crowd, I wonder if since they are targeting a much more mainstream audience, they are in fact making more money than Tech TV used to. Is viewership in fact up? Perhaps someone with more time than me can post their research findings on this.
I mean, I'm all for bashing G4 for what they've done, but I'd be a little cautious about saying they are making bad business moves until we know for a fact whether or not viewership is up or down and whether or not revenue is up or down since the buyout.
Well of course by 2050 robots will be able to win the world cup. They could probably win it now if they just partnered with the folks over at BattleBots.

You can think its unfair all you like, but the fact is, when the community rules state ENGLISH ONLY, and people blatantly post in portugese and then say in english how they are never going to post in english, that is when things start getting enforced. I have no sympathy for those people that I have to remove. THey have been intentionally disruptive.
I am a very active Orkut participant. I am also a member of the Japanese Food/Sushi Lovers community, which lately has been having intense discussions trying to get the Brazilians to follow the community rules and only post in english.
As of yesterday, ownership of the 38,400+ member community was transferred to me (its the 4th largest english only community on Orkut). I have been facing an uphill battle ever since dealing with rude brazilians who refuse to follow rules, and respect their community owner, and fellow community members.
I've also experienced this with middle eastern people in other communities, but not to the degree of the brazilians. And I want to make it clear that it is not all brazilians, it just so happens that the only ones who are causing big problems are from brazil.
I think that a lot of the animosity from the english only communities comes from the fact that Orkut provides very little in terms of community management for dealing with this sort of problem. Today I faced the daunting task of trying to find one member through 700+ pages of the management member listing manually in order to remove him since there are no search/filter options. It was impossible, so I emailed Orkut and have not heard a reply yet. Fortunately, I think I found a workaround by just copying the syntax for removing someone on the first page of the listing, and simply substituting the offending members UID.
I also do not want to make the community a moderated one (requiring people to request admission), but since Orkut only lets you remove members and not ban them by IP, I may have no other option. Orkut should also provide an option to remove the person right below their avatar so you can remove them right in the same post they crossed the line in.
Anyway, to stay on topic, the complaints have PLENTY of merit, but part of it is from the faulty system provided for dealing with it.
Its great that these limbs can come so close to bringing back function to the missing limbs. However, when will we start seeing limbs that can perform BETTER than the old limb?
I mean, obviously there are some sensory and control issues to be worked out, but why shouldn't someone who lost their arm be able to get one that is 5 times stronger? Or that has other enhancements like a computer interface (or an mp3 player/camera! JOKING!!!)?
What I'm basically asking about is, why simply settle for replacement when we have the technology for IMPROVEMENT?
While I agree to some extent, I also feel there is no point in posting about it. I mean, this is akin to yelling at people who buy expensive toys that "they should be donating their money to starving children".
The reality is people lost limbs, the good news is they are getting replacements that are much more advanced than they used to be. Lets be happy and leave it at that.
I've loaded the cars from my garage, and am able to use the cars I have won. However, it lowers its power. So in other words, all those parts I bought to increase performance don't do dick.
Don't believe me? Take a rally car like the escort, soup it up all the way, then try it in a rally race in arcade mode. The car isn't NEARLy as powerful. And I believe the horsepower drops considerably (check the numbers it shows you).
Is it just me, or is increasing commercial activity in that area going to effectively increase the rate at which things melt? I mean, all that activity that would be generated up there is bound to produce some heat.
While I'm as upset as everybody about the lack of online play, what I'm really concerned about is their 2 player competitive play.
In GT3, when you selected cars, they would give you stock stats, no matter how tuned it was in simulation mode. This was horrible as my friends and I could not race the cars we had spent so much time building as they were meant to be raced.
The other concern I have is that in GT3, there was no 2 player quarter mile. Why? I have no idea, it would be so simple to do. Hopefully they've included it in GT4.
I thought ATiTD was an AMAZING concept for a game. And I really enjoyed playing it for a while.
Before I continue, you should know that I'm one of those MMORPG players who loves doing tradeskills. I loved UO's system, hated EQ's, and thought I found a new best friend in ATiTD. Unfortunately, they made it boring as hell with a few exceptions.
What i'd really like to see in a tradeskill based MMORPG is more skill involved, possibly some twitch based tradeskills. I mean, how cool would it be if you had to point to where you wanted the smithing hammer to strike, or if you had to point to where you wanted the mining pick to strike a vein, but you also had to click a slider to get the right speed, etc.
I think whoever can make a tradeskill system that is more realistic than all of the current systems out there will have a winner.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it was because of college students going home. God knows how many infected boxes there are at colleges on broadband connections.
Yeah....but when you think about it, lots of advertising can be effective when you break advertising law.
I mean, who wouldn't buy a product that claimed to give you immortality, a 10" penis, the ability to sleep with a girl just by looking at her, and the ability to lose as much weight as you want by just eating junkfood. Thats why advertising law exists in the first place.
"The LiveJournal operators wouldn't violate this statement within moments of its being posted!"
Right, but what I'm concerned about is their Privacy Policy. Since legally (and yes, IANAL) wouldn't the old owners have absolutely no say whatsoever what happens to the users information? Whats to stop these people from deciding one year down the line "hey, revenue is down, we need more money, lets sell our user lists to advertisers"?
Not that you'd know from some of the recent articles posted lately.

iPod - users look like they're lost in their own worlds, and often are since they have a friggin soundtrack to their life.

Never underestimate the stupidity of humanity.
