But the administrators have no jurisdiction over what goes on outside of school.
Not true. At least in my case, back when i was in hs and in varsity sports, we (student athletes) had to agree and sign a sort of honor form, stating that we will not break the law, drink, smoke or do any other thing illegal or unhealthy. If you were caught, it was either you were benched or let go from the team (depending on how valuable you were of course). This is just a diff medium in that instead of getting caught firsthand by a coach/teacher smoking in the bathroom or a party getting busted up and parents called, all the incriminating photos are electronic and on the web.
Case in point, its really better that they got caught now and hopefully learn rather then when they are college grads looking for work, and the potential employer finds a nice little picture of a said interviewee pole dancing while smoking a joint clubbing baby seals.
FYI, if anyone has a relitive in the military, there is plenty of Wii's and accesories at the military only stores, along with PS3's. Personaly, im waiting for a prce drop.
Is this some kind of Slashdot joke like the "In Soviet Russia" or "Only old people use email"? Last time i checked (yesterday) there were NO PS3's avaliable at any Best Buy within a 100 mile radius of downstate NY.
Cures for a lot of diseases probably already exist but there is no money in curering people, just treating their symptoms.
As much as I wish that wasn't true I'm afraid it is. I'm dating an immunologist right now, and even she has told me that the pharmaceutical companies aren't interested in cures, only lifestyle drugs such as giving an 80 year old a woody, or helping people loose weight. Basically there's no profit in cures, only the drugs you have to keep taking.
I just find it sickening that thousands die each year from HIV, cancer, and the sorts, but hey, old people are having sex!
I personally miss the days of the classic adventure games. Space Quests 1-6...Rex Nebular: the space quest rip off and I also loved the Quest for glory series from the old Sierra. Those were the days...
Is it just me, or does anyone else wonder how long this service will be available to the general public for free?
I can see the Dept of Homeland Security not liking this project one bit as anyone anywhere can get the layouts of every city and street with a broadband connection.
Don't get me wrong, I think this is a great tool, but i feel it won't exist without debate.
They still focus on dial up, versus the exploading broadband arena.
Actually, they are pushing AOL for broadband. But the thing is, why pay an aditional $14.95 when you already have to pay about $30 a month just for the cable modem service.
They were great in the mid to late 90's when the only way to get on-line was through a modem. Hell even i used them up until about 3 years ago when cable became avaliable in my area. But the reality is that the company is on its way out, its just a matter of when.
There seems to have been a slight problem with the database. Please try again by pressing the refresh button in your browser.

A little while ago, Microsoft stated they would give windows updates to all Windows XP machines, regardless of wherther or not they were legit copies. A month later thay retracted that statement.
Will they do the same here? Possibly see how many people use it, then tack on a cost once they have a large enough market share?
I'd ride with women, and be scared to death by the time I got out of the car.
I absolutly agree with you. By no doubt there are still teenage guys street racing, running red lights, and other things, but teenage girls are doing the exact same things now.
Maybe back in the 50's, girls were great drivers and acted like sugar, but now this is no where near the case. The insurance companies should update their statistics, and also take into account that guys cant cry or show a nipple to get out of a ticket.
I graduated with a degree in I.S. two years ago. I work as a Sys Admin right now, and also going to night school to get my masters in Information Technology. My goal after that, is to then get my MBA, but would you consider it more wise to skip the MS in IT completely and go right for the MBA? I feel that if I was in management, I would want to know as much as possible about what I am managing (hence the MS degree). Any one else have any input?
The *REAL* anti-missile program is we sell these missiles to North Korea. Then they fail to launch when the Koreans try to use them. >
This idea was actually made into a movie called "Deterrence" (1999).
Bassically, the U.S. sold mal-functioning nukes to France, knowing that they will sell them to Iraq, and in the end when Iraq sends them to the U.S. in a nuke war, they never go off.
I wouldn't be surprised if there are simply no jobs to go around.
Right now i am 24 years old, and have a BS degree in Information Systems. I work full time as a sys admin, while going to school nights for my masters in I.T. But some times i really just think, whats the point? I realize that the trend is to have more efficient, more user friendly PC's, O.S's, and this is the way it will continue. Pretty soon, i honestly do feel that IT will not even be needed in the corperate world due to automation. But like you posted, this is the way with every job/field, except probably research.
The way i see it, like you said, there simply wont be any jobs for humans to do anymore, except maintain the automation. Or maybe i just have a poor outlook on the future.
Lower my income tax
Give me free health care
Those are two contradicting statements. If you want free health care obviously everyone's taxes will have to go up to cover your demand.

Hey i would apreciate that! Zip: 14607 (Rochester) or 12222 (Albany) The online store says they are sold out so i cannot add to the cart. Thanks!
You do realize that "In Soviet Russia, x y's you!" came from Family Guy...

It actually came from a guy named Yakov Smirnoff http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yakov_Smirnoff but is parodied by many...
In response to PS3's avaliable in pockets, i could believe that, yet for me, ive yet to see one thats avaliable, unless it comes in a madatory packege that is well over my price range http://www.walmart.com/catalog/catalog.gsp?cat=55

Kevin Costner. Come on now, if you have ever seen "The Postman" you would understand. Maybe Tom Petty would even make an appearance

Only old people use 10Ghz computers
killed off 65% of the world's population it would only be a GOOD thing for the Earth.
While you might have a valid argument, would it change if you or loved ones were part of that 65%?
