Microsoft will donate nearly £7 million pounds for aiding the development of spamassasin.
Back to reality news
Microsoft will sink £7 million pounds into integrating spam software into its OS offering so tightly that it is impossible to remove (disable via a worm may be possible) thereby closing the doors to all other spammers except Claria...Or is that Claira...or maybe Clearer?
Is this the way things are going because our western economy are starting to struggle to keep shareholders happy thereby causing the little man to pay every penny they own to get the latest CD from HMV that they will listen to about 5 times cause they can't use the same CD on their car MP3 player?
No-one has yet picked up on what this means for the Nintendo Revolution in our current market place. While many will pay £300-400 for a PS3 or X-Box 360 many will not. Not only because of initial outlay, but because of cost of games.
This move by Nintendo, on a console that is likely going to cost less, is brilliant marketing...Not only do they fill the die-hard Nintendo fans, but they entice all the families that don't spend £300-400 on a console plus 40 pound a game to but a £200 console that, at least for now, will keep the kids happy with old games while keeping daddy happy because all he has to do is buy one or two sport games. The whole family is happy, and for quite a bit less money.
The Nintendo Revolution sounds more and more like a family console, and less as a punk-mid-teens/late maturing mid twenties men's machine like the Xbox360 and PS3.
I always felt that "My Computer" was wrong. I mean, my computer claiming that it owns itself?
It should have been "Your Computer."
But then that gives a feeling of not being "connected" with the computer. Now, M$ has decided to treat us like little adults and allows just "Computer", as though originally they didn't think that we would be able to determine who owns the computer we were working on...
Anyway, when you click on "My Computer" you could essentially also receive a window with "other peoples" computer via mapped network drivers, hence "My Computer" could essentially be wrong. Maybe "A Computer" would be more accurate, or even "A computer somewhere". What about "My computer" in a terminal session, shouldn't that be "My session computer"?
Oh the board meetings about this change must have been interesting...
Isn't this the same processor that's going into the new Playstation 3, except surrounded by cell processors?
What stops the ability to add cell processors as an extension on the XBox 360? Extra card with a few cell processors on? That way the consoles longevity is vastly increased...slowing down? Add another cell...
There may be no excuses for prostitutes...however, I wonder if she would have the same stance for intern secretaries?
But seriously, if you are gonna stop violence in games, then film, music is to follow. What you have in the end is a society that is dressed in little rabit suits...Well at least there will be shagging still...
If we ban games, there won't be any PARTICULAR reason to use Microsoft Windows anymore...
But seriously, thats just rather a long shot link (haven't read article). That's like blaming baseball for all them baseball attacks (with all them swinging of baseball bats and all).
On another note, and completely off-topic, can Americans sue anti-perspirant companies for not stopping the production of perspiration for 24 hours as advertised? I have a colleague that by god stinks. Maybe he can be blamed for the inexplicable deaths of local domesticated animals...
Actually, I remember reading somewhere that the games industry wanted to cash in on their investment in the CD industry before moving to a new format like DVD.
I guess they may decide to jump DVD and head straight for FDROM if they wait a little longer.
I heard that this is Duke's favorite weapon in Duke Nukem Forever...They're just waiting for the reality of this weapon to appear before releasing the game cause they want a more realistic feel for the game.
Can we find a passive country to request extradition on George W Bush for pre-emptively striking a sovereign nation without an ounce of proof that any threat existed while knowing that the prime target was still living in Afghanistan, and turning a blind eye to Northern Korea who seem to be far more active in their search for nuclear weaponry?
Maybe we can try him for going against his agreements made with the United Nations?
Question: Should we be worrying just a little bit when a large powerful country states that the international treaties and laws as laid down by the United Nations are ignorable? Maybe some Americans sitting in their comfy chair and watching the next round of lies heading their way from their elected representatives should think about their children rather than themselves...You are sowing the seeds of your destruction, and you will pay the ultimate price...
People want freedom, not American freedom. There is a HUGE difference.
Sounds like a nuclear weapons scenario...Except nowadays things are run as they desire by dark side of the Atlantic after carefully synchronising the destruction of anything that have a different idealism...
Did I read that right? That at the end of the year, you decide whether to upload data and depending on data depends on the discount you get?
Do we know the criteria? Obviously speeding is gonna ba a no-no; "Sir, you lost 1% for each infraction, that is over a year...hmm 100% hence no discount"
Or even worse, your gonna get grannies driving along single lane carriageways at 5mph to keep their insurances as low as possible so that they can afford to heat their home come winter...
Anyway, someone somewhere will hack it and find a way to put linux on running divx's to the satelite navigation system...
All these statistics are relative. This one is probably based on the number of people using the software versus number who have purchased. This is a warped way of getting a high number for the software companies to fight back.
The way this should be worked out is:
number of users - number of people who would not buy versus number of buyers. Some people will download software illegaly and use it, but the assumption that they would actually purchase that software if they had not been able to download it is misplaced.
Of course, working this out is much harder and would change that statistic massively against the people who are actually financing the report.
Now instead of fulfilling my plan of spending 2 hours going through all my old mail on what I need and what I don't, I no longer have to...I can wait another year or so and put my summer holidays aside to do it instead!
Groan...Don't you think the only reason they want you to have larger email boxes is so that you can receive the future advertisement containing full-screen video?
Do you not think that this is another delay tactic? 30-days to raise share value, sell a few more and come back in 29 days saying...Ooh look at this...we do/don't have evidence. Sorry, misplaced it somewhere...
I wonder what your definition of "hire" is when you talk about the Nazi. I don't think that the Nazi's "hired" anyone in my definition of the word "hired."

If you even have to ask youself this, you shouldn't be here you should be here or possibly here
If we could actually buy the unit here in Europe...Have to wait until September, but hey, the firmware is at V2...
Uh huh...and in other news...

On the same day as slashdot reports Mike Nash, Microsoft's Chief Security Executive, has made claims that Windows is more secure than Linux

Oh I hope that M$ do something illegal and the DMCA bites them on the arse with the RIAA ramming their little sticks up M$'s big fat arse.
