Longhorn will no doubt come with some compelling features that will make Linux a harder sell.

Please - no flames - but isn't that kinda backwards? The whole case Linux Zealots have been trying to prove is that Linux is better than Windows. Now are we afraid that Microsoft will get better and force Linux to get better too? Don't we want Microsoft products to get better? I know I do, even if Linux is still a better option. C'mon man, they aren't really evil, they're just big. I hope the next Windows OS is the WhizBang MS Solution to OS X. I hope the same for Linux distros. I hope the next version of Mac OS is better too. We're all going to have to deal with them (Windows users) at some point, lets hope for the best possible OS Microsoft can develop. I'd like to believe that all platforms will be stable, secure, and scalable for beginners to tech users.

They're constantly trying to talk you down on salary. The first communication he'll indicate the job is paying between $20 and $25 an hour based on relavant experience. By the next call, it's down to $20 to $22. By the third call it's $20, and if you make it even further you find out it's even less. "$18.65 an hour?!? I'm making more than that now! I thought you said $20! What do you mean up to $20.

I usually find the best leads are from friends, contacts, and former co-workers whose companies are hiring.

Not to be troll, but we were doing this in the early ninties to play Soundgarden, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, etc. I know on my fender strat is just over a 1/4 turn of the tuning knob.

tuning a whole guitar is a lot more challenging live, which is why so many people switch guitars between songs that would require an alternate tuning. but dropping one string from E to D is cake.

Anyone else think we're nearing the end of the analog phone system?

Because of Audio/Video Conference with iChat and AIM? As they say in Chinatown, "Nickel preeze!". Instant Messeging and Web chats are great, for back and forth conversation, but have you ever tried to tell a joke or story? Forever long.

Face to face (or screen to screen) video conferencing is still grainy at best for most consumer grade products availble.

Cell phones are great for portabilty and catching me on the go, but if someone calls my cell when i'm in the office or at home, i always call 'em back on a land line. It sounds better, and i still don't have "unlimited" minutes on my cell plan. Too damn expensive. I have friends out in the sticks that get zero or minimal cell reception out in BFE.

Increased VoIP saturation might help bring down POTS, but you've still got reliabilty issues. My land line goes down once or twice every three to five years, usually as a result of some type of natural disaster, but my power goes off every couple months. No power, no DSL modem, no router, no VoIP phone. What if you need to call the power company or 911?

Nope, sorry folks, POTS is here to stay, maybe not forever, but it's not going anywhere in the next ten years.

Right before, we, Microsoft reduce the price on our current model X-Box from $179.99 to $99.99 we leak rumors that, maybe, the new console won't support the old X1 games.

We know that if we said otherwise, some folks may be willing hold off on buying an X1. Waiting for an X2, and forgetting about the current X1 saves the purchase price of one X1 unit, but one must wait until X2 is released.

However, by indicating that the X2 will not support X1 games, we essentially tell the customers to go buy one now, b/c you may never get to play Halo otherwise. Oh, and by the way, we're offering a great deal on Mr. X1 right now. $80 off what your friends just paid a few months ago to buy one for X-mas.

This may just be all about moving more Generation One X-boxes between now and the actual realase of the Gen Two.
