I wonder if they fixed this yet. I have an iRiver iFP-390T that I use as a UMS, but it hasn't been working correctly under Linux. Something about being marked removable when it isnt. Anyone have a patch?
I think that it is only useful if the programmers work well together. Yes i know that sounds like the most generic comment ever made about the subject but its true. If one programmer is like you are and can't talk while in the 'zone' and the other programmer is someone who always has to know what is happening like a little 2-yr-old, then no it does not work at all. But say me and my friend john get together and we take turns writing code as it comes to us and we quietly watch each other while they code and then review their code later it works very well.
Approaching the second anniversary of Sept. 11, 1,521 of the 2,792 people who perished in the WTC disaster have been identified. It does take time. Rember that every single positive ID that is made is a life that has been lost. Imagine the familes associated with these 'numbers' and mass ID. I do not appriciate your comment.
What i find interesting is that Microsoft claims that it's OS is far better than the UNIX variants around today (Linux in particular) , yet they will still pay large sums of money for UNIX source to use in their Services For UNIX (SFU). Seems like they want all their bases covered.
My take on this is that Microsoft would like to charge fees to those who use their protocol. Even if the fee is something very small (like a penny even) they will never be interested in "interoperating with all third parties" because they could never let the protocol's secrets become open-source (in the case of gaim etc) and of course because linux is a competitor.
Its 10:20ish now.. he usually gets home at 6:00 or 6:30... but tonite he's still trying to clean up their network. all because 1 person brought it in with 1 infected e-mail.
I've heard that future versions of windows will escape the standard 2 dimensional desktop and add a 3D element to the GUI. Will these be the types of displays it will use? and how can they code for a 3D GUI without having a device to use it with? Or was it just 3D-looking on a standard 2D display.. ideas?
I very much doubt Microsoft would sign any Linux unless it was planning on getting control of it. If all they can gain is an award they have no real reason to look like they approve of Linux. They may even try to compete by making an Xbox version of Windows.

Does anyone else here really want an OC-12 line to the base of their skull to pump in all this information...

The time that i told everyone in our highschool 'Happy Mole day!' while in the computer lab during chemistry class. Yeah people weren't very happy.
