You mean like the iPhone SDK? What exactly is it that allows everyone in the world to develop for the iPhone except for MS?
How the hell is this insightful?
How is this remotely insightful? This is REALLY a stretch that someone would go through all of this effort. Not to mention they would have to somehow pick songs that the target had actually purchased from iTunes, or else there would be a clear record that those songs do not belong to them.
This is just silly. This whole thread seems to be filled with people trying to come up with obscure circumstances where this could cause someone trouble without doing anything illegal.
Ummm, the most recent update was 2.0.2. Kind of hard to take the rest of the article seriously when it gets the most basic of facts wrong.
Not that I doubt the existence of these 3G problem, just tired of reading poorly researched, poorly edited "news" articles. I don't have a 3G iPhone, so this article doesn't really apply to me, but for my Edge iPhone, 2.0.2 seems to have improved a number of issues, particularly the email.
What the original poster is trying to say, and repeatedly getting misunderstood about, is that turning on either FileSharing or Windows Files Sharing shares his entire home directory, including all of his personal files, and any home directory applications, and there is no built-in way to only share particular folders.
I agree with this point, as I wish that I could specify a particular folder to share, but overall, since I am running client software, and use file servers when in an environment of other users, it doesn't bother me too much.
Seriously, if you don't know something, keep your f'n mouth shut, instead of making up lies. ALL Macs have firewire. pretty much the only place that Apple has abandoned firewire is with their iPods, which is a shame, but enables them to make just one version of each model.
I didn't take it to mean that he bought 2 first generation iPods, but rather another iPod a year ago. I can't imagine he would buy a 4 year old player. I think it certainly could have been writtern better, but your leap in logic seems a little off.
Then again, maybe he's an idiot.

Final Cut Pro does not require a dongle. I just built 2 work stations with Final Cut Studio.
Logic Pro I don't know about, but from what I've heard, you are right.
And to the other person who said iLife requires a serial, no, it doesn't. iWork does.
What a terrifically interesting topic for conversation. I am completely amazed that many of the offerings suck. And incredulous that Steve Jobs would crow about the percentage of cars available with iPod integration w/o mentioning that many of them suck.
I am not sure of the exact starting point, but I know that iBooks from about 4 years ago had a model specific installer which came with them. Actually was a bit of a pain in the ass to deal with. Of course the store-bought version of OS X works universally on Macs.
And no serial # is required on any OS X install except for Server, as people have mentioned. You are mistaken or just full of shit to say otherwise.

Secondly, Podcasts more often than not, do not include video, so vidcast may not be appropriate. Judging by the overwhelming majority that I have experienced, perhaps Crapcast is appropriate. We need more quality such as the ones NPR produces, so I view this as a good thing.
Lastly, I am reasonably sure that Apple did not coin the term Podcast, Adam Curry or someone along those lines did, but I could be mistaken. The iPod dominates the market, so it seems like a good choice, and looks like it is working out.
If you require things like a Start menu, and can't learn to use a Command button instead of a Control button to perform the same shortcuts, then stick with a Windows box. Don't even get me started on your Windows-style uninstall functionality request. That's just asinine.
hahaha, you are right, I actually have an old PB180 kicking around somewhere and I had forgotten about the 2 buttons. But yes, you are right, they do they same thing
you know what he/she meant. your point is useless. And the one true sign that Apple is fully onboard with the multi-button mouse is when laptops come with 2 buttons
(that is patently false. laptops have come with more than 2 buttons for years. One for each letter in the alphabet, numbers and special characters. Just not 2 buttons below the trackpad for the mouse click....blah, blah, blah)
What does that even mean? "Something that does more than one thing is usually going to be of a lower quality than a device that does more than one thing" is how I read it.

iLife serial, ha, funny.
Never heard of it. Durango?
Maybe somehow I didn't pour on the sarcasm thick enough, but outside of a sarcasm beatdown stick, I don't know what more I could have done.

Ya, you and 35,000,000 other people. Well done, Kreskin.
I don't think it means what you think it means.

What's your sig say? I can't quite make it out...
well, considering how bad your grammar is in your post, I think you have bigger things to worry about than the spelling of an individual word.
Ouch! It hurts my head just trying to read your post.
Nothing like acting like a know-it-all and promptly being put in your place, huh? Ha-Ha
Constantly misquoted, i love it....
