Actually, it would the little island of Great Britain. The UK refers to the whole country, which spans many islands, including GB and Northern Ireland.
That was different- they never advertised *just* the wii or ps3- they advertised their bundles as the only way to get it. Accessory attachment is perfectly legal (and I would even say ethical) so long as it is clearly advertised as such.
It's no longer concealed at that point, and with your intentions clear, it's brandishing.
You make it harder for me to lawfully and respectfully keep and bear arms. Thanks.
Your consent IS required to install updates to firmware and system software. Buying something once does not give you the right to buy a replacement in the future with the exact capabilities.

I'm surprised that as an ex-LED-backlight designer, you state:
The reason I say 'the only good way' is because LED's are constant-current devices and all the drivers I'm familiar with are all designed around that, so you can't just go varying the voltage to try and dim them: the drivers aren't really voltage devices.
LED are Light Emitting Diodes. Diodes function as a switch- once you reach and surpass the 'turn on' voltage, the brightness of the diode remains constant. The only option is to apply the voltage to the diode as a wave.
Try it. Block the outbound port connecting to Steam. What? You mean you can't play your game without phoning home? I thought if the servers were taken offline, you could play?
Never rely on a promise to protect your rights. For all you know, they could go under, get sold to a new owner in bankruptcy court and the new owner could shut off the servers but not give up the licenses.
Shockingly wrong. You can invoke your right to not self-incriminate on a question by question basis. Otherwise, stating your name for the record would be waiving your 5th amendment right.
Granted, I don't disagree with being compelled to give up encrypted files. I think a better comparison is showing them the shed where the bodies are buried, then refusing to give them the key. In this case, the cops can't use bolt cutters, so it is reasonable to compel you to provide the files.
This kind of garbage is why Patrick Moore, one of the Greenpeace founders, left the movement.
"By the mid-1980s, the environmental movement had abandoned science and logic in favor of emotion and sensationalism. I became aware of the emerging concept of sustainable development: balancing environmental, social and economic priorities. Converted to the idea that win-win solutions could be found by bringing all interests together, I made the move from confrontation to consensus."
I enjoyed the ad for two reasons:
1) It demonstrated how out of touch a company can become when they don't need to earn their customers.
2) I live in the Seattle area and it was a lot of fun to wonder with my friends what neighborhood the family scenes were from. You could also say you shouldn't assume it was around Seattle, but that neighborhood looked a LOT like Sandpoint/Laurelhurst in N. Seattle.
Ahhhh.... That little known exception to the Fifth Amendment-- It doesn't apply to civil cases, which traffic cases are.
You can be asked point blank* "Did you speed", and under penalty of perjury, you have to answer truthfully or be held in contempt of court.
*: You have to be called to the witness stand, and in most jurisdictions, only you can call yourself. If you call yourself, you can be cross examined.

Actually, yes. At least in the case of the Army, they had to change a number of unimportant rules such as the minimum a person MUST BE ABLE TO THROW A GRENADE AWAY FROM THEMSELVES.
You're a moron-- More time around other people is what causes me to lose empathy for them. Seeing them play into their own self-fullfilling prophecies of failure and weakness makes me sick. The appeal to the Government or "Someone" to help makes me sicker.
Besides the fact that installing Windows on a Mac is not really Apple's problem and it was nice of them to provide the capability, ou are also assuming that Microsoft is open to giving Apple an OEM license.
Still, tuning scrambled digital channels takes about 1-3 seconds a flip. So, even it you are watching only 10 of your 200 channels, trying to find something interesting can take awhile (given 5-10 seconds of thought into a show).
This is one of the things that I actually do consider terrorism-- the intent was probably never to kill anyone but to scare and intimidate people.... That's basically what terrorism is. I don't think anybody ever hesitated to call Ted Kaczynski a terrorist.
Spray painting a wall is vandalism, constantly yelling at your neighbor is harassment and sending bombs in the mail is terrorism.
I'm afraid that I just can't support such a ban due to the overwhelmingly severe impact it will have on childern that don't know how to properly use the shift key.
I was in a computer lab a few years ago at a high school and watched some girl use the caps lock to capitalize the first letter of the sentence. Not wanting to damage her sense of who she was ("Caps Lock Girl" in my mind anyways), I couldn't bring myself to demonstrate the power of the shift key. To this day, I hope she still uses the caps lock key for all things shift related.
Wow, thank you. I didn't know that and I always found it really frusturating not being able to cycle through the windows in the foreground application.
Wow, did you actually read the article that you linked against? That basically had nothing to do with gummibears-- the example of them was only as FUD against biometrics. The real techniques required circuts, cameras and chemistery.
I'd guess that Microsoft may soon add google.com to the list of blocked URL's on their intranet."
I'd guess that you're an idiot then. There's no way that MS would block the most useful search tool on the internet just because they are trying to compete with it. I know its typical slashdot to believe in the MS culture of only their products are good, but I know plenty of MS employees that have Gmail accounts and was even contacted for recruiting through a Gmail account. And, another reason to keep searches open to google is to compare results from google to those obtained with Live.

As a musician, you should simply buy a computer from a different manufacturer.

I personally want to see another Marathon title.... back from the good old days of an independent Bungie.
I generally consider voilence a rule of thumb.... Explosions in the mail are signicantly scarier than spraypainting a threatning slogan.

Mind posting it? ;)
