    yeah, but that's the problem. Google pushed out android "oooh, do what you want with it, customize, free!". But when security issues arise, it's all "Ooops, not our fault, talk to the manufacturer". They share some of the blame.
    I may not like apple, but at least they're consistent in updating, fairly long in fact.

    You have obviously never been around someone not working who doesn't handle it well: Be it involuntary unemployment or retirement.
    Many people cannot exist happily without something other than "Here's food and a house. enjoy". Not everyone is good at making use of their time.
    People who have never been out of work don't understand this. Every day off is enjoyable.
    People who have understand it quite well: How to fill your time.
    This is not simply a monetary issue.

    with the current system, if my package gets stolen, amazon is responsible. no danger to my possessions or house.
    with their suggested system, it reduces risk to AMAZON, but increases risk to ME. Now I'm letting someone in my home, where my already owned stuff might get stolen.

    Why is it my job to risk my stuff to reduce Amazon's risk?

    Bias of any sort is a problem for everyone. It's a gentle nudge in a direction, not a hard push.
    If you think intelligence keeps you from being influenced by bias, or being biased yourself, you're deluding yourself.

    I'd assumed "blade runner" was a reference to that act, trying to run along a sharp edge, being extremely difficult and dangerous, as was identifying and terminating replications.

    These aren't "oh, I'm a sys admin and need to log into this machine!" passwords, these are automated process passwords. They can be long and crazy difficult because you will never type them.
    My last job had a terrible time of this, people were always adding random jobs that did things using an admin password ( Instead of a proper account), then wondering why it exploded when we changed the admin password bi monthly.

    Most people I know who eat a large breakfast get up earlier, and are usually more physically fit: They're eating breakfast then hitting the gym.
    Most people who don't are usually less active, rushing to work last minute ( strees..), and don't have time for breakfast.
