If you're saying that based on public speculation, it's kinda weird.
Now if you have some sort of inside information (ie, you worked for these public figures and they regularly murder people) it's something else.
But that's the whole judge others thing.
I used to think I'd make a pretty good benevolent dictator. But then I realized, I'd just be a dictator.
Shortly before lithuim is blamed for causing a rise in global static levels, and various shady people begin selling lithium offset credits for people who take it medically-
Three heart patients=$550.
Wait until your company disposes of their old workhorse laser printers to replace them with fancy color laser printers.
Grab the indestructible ones, refurb them yourself for fifty bucks, then print forever on one toner cartridge.
I've had two HP notebooks, one a full size and one a netbook.
Both have had problems, and both have been dealt with perfectly by HP repair under warranty.
The Netbook, in fact, was replaced and back within ONE WEEK of being shipped by me.
So although the reliability was bad, the service made up for it.
Although my netbook ( An HP Mini 2140) has this odd spot on the back of the case behind the screen where it's REALLY magnetic, as in i can attach things to it such as bottlecaps.
But a third party Vendor's firmware issues ARE apple's fault, as long as said firmware is installed in a device Apple is selling.
I loath to bring another car anology into anything, but if you bought a ford and the radio didn't work because the radio company replaced the innards with custard, you'd demand Ford replace it.
You might sympathize with Ford, but ultimately it's their responsibility.
Now what's really freaky is, should you choose to leave and become "just another regular white guy", you'll soon find you oddly miss being slightly different and special.
Gaijin-man syndrome!
When I lived in Thailand, one of my friends there never tired of saying "you got 10,000 baht, you can get someone killed", which converts to approximately a little over us$200.
So you could have killed almost three people with the amount you got shafted!
I'm a big fan of "do unto others', which is essentially causing a business an equivalent amount of damage for my time.
Say, for example, an electronics store overcharges me ten bucks and refuses to deal with me. I consider it my obligation to waste approximately ten dollars worth of the store's time. This may include putting stuff in the wrong place so that someone has to sort it, annoyingly questioning the workers, or simply buying and returning things for no real reason.
It has the added bonus of being fun.
I gotta ask, unless you're dressed like a Taliban, do that many people have experience with being stopped at airports and having to actually physically fire up your laptop to submit it for inspection?!?!?
Is this seriously a common problem some people are running into on a constant basis?
I once had one airline security guy demand that I fire the laptop up, and another slightly down the line get mad at me for doing just that, didn't I know that I just had to open it up for them to see?
This occurred in Australia, BTW.
we use onbase, I like it.
AND, one day when a tech was onsite for training, the entire home office was having a day off at Cedar Point.
mmmm, rollercoasters.
But it's the MPAAs money. And they probably aren't in business to help the blind.
That's like saying "The money spent by the rich guy on his yacht could have been better spent on helping the poor".
Yes, that might be true.
But odds are, that rich guy isn't going to spend it on the poor if he doesn't buy the yacht.
I've always liked when people use statements that are just thrown out, like truth. Like "Tibet has been a part of China throughout history" as if saying it makes it a fact.
Here's one:
"The US has been a part of Great Brittain throughout History".
History's a pretty big frame of time.
While not completely agreeing or disagreeing with your point, does not criticism of a bad thing exist independently of another bad thing?
In other words, can't I say "China has a bad record on X" while also knowing that the the US has a bad record on Y?
What if my promotion of democratic reforms worldwide involves criticism of problems in both countries, but on this particular topic I'm concentrating on China?
In a sense you can have the godlike being intervening randomly and have it fit in, if you equate it to a completely unfathomable intelligence.
Of course, this makes everything everyone does in relation to the god irrelevant, as you never know if it cares or not, or why.

bravo. I get tired of everyone making arguments about a=b because situations occur in both places, ignoring quantity, quality, or even intention.
Hey, I didn't realize that they hired someone new for our department! Welcome aboard, and fix that damn server.

Though I won't argue the unqualified in part 1, I would argue the qualified in part 2
I think his point was more along the lines of "studying anything from the viewpoint of a highly influenced group will give certain obvious results".

How do you sort them? I've been eyeballing these things since, what, 1982?
When did slashdot become artificially skewed in Microsoft's favor?

The dogs smell the plastic used in the pressed discs. They're mostly used to find DVDs in places where no DVDs should be.

Define "great". I've always felt the H2s looked vaguely like an armored car with the top smashed down.
1. If you don't mind me asking, what country? 2. Your sig puzzles me greatly, when seen in light of your post.

Nope, not the picture I grew up with tacked to the wall. His eyes were definitely blue.
Um... did you used to have a Japanese girlfriend?
