I'm not sure sure that Adobe is technically using javascript. The only application that I'm aware of using a scripting language is After Effects. The scripting language uses the same syntax and all as javascript, but I'm not so sure I would come right out and say that it IS javascript... you definately couldnt run your After Effects scripts in a web browser:)
...is Notepad.exe. I've been using it for years and it's not failed me once. Other programs are so bloated! Notepad takes care of everything you need in only 68KB! Not only is it perfect for managing appointments and important dates, you can also jump right over to writing code on it, without having to learn a cumbersome new interface.
I just change everything so it looks and feels pretty much the same as win98. get rid of all the "user-friendly" crap that just gets in the way, and everything behaves exactly how I want it to, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
How come no one just creates a p2p network where all data is encrypted with a simple algorithm. In order to access the files that you have downloaded to examine the contents, you have to "crack" the encryption on the file with a readily available tool. RIAA could never check to see if any files are copyrighted, because they would be violating the DMCA is they broke the encryption on the files.
Its far easier for the Japanese to just download the raw versions. They are readily accessible and can be downloaded usually an hour or 2 within airing.
The Japanese HATE files that are corrupted with subtitles all over them. Why would they want something like that when they can get the cleaner, better looking version a lot sooner?
They do it because its a hobby. With ANY hobby, once you finish your objective at hand, you feel a great sense of accomplishment. Whether its knitting quilts, coding an open source project, or even pirating movies. The people who do this take pride in the fact that they feel like they are achieving something, that they are actually GOOD at something.
As with any hobby, people are willing to spend money on it. I personally enjoy video editing, and I've spent far more on it than I care to admit. My little videos don't really have any actual value, but they sure give me a good feeling on the inside. I'm pretty sure its the same way with these guys.
Yep, I ran spybot and some antivirus prog, and both reported nothing.
My pc was operating just fine, right up until the point where I ran this version of firefox, then the problems became immediately apparent.
Some further additions:
Moox changed my sounds scheme. I always have sound effects in windows turned off. Some of them were enabled after I ran moox.
I left my pc on while I went to eat, as always. When I came back, windows was at the screen where it asks you to select which user you want to log in under. Seeing as I'm the only person who uses my PC, and I had flat out disabled this stupid feature, I find it strange that it suddenly appears again after running that moox build.
Just WHAT is this thing doing messing with my operating system?!
I just downloaded this MOOX build, the m3 version (I have a pentium 4). First off, I got it up and running, and I noticed my bookmarks werent working at all--you click on them and absolutely nothing happens. I then noticed that it had CHANGED my windows wallpaper with a solid bright GREEN image. I don't know wtf this build is doing messing with my wallpaper, but I'm going to reccommend against people downloading this.
There's already an excellant open-source codec out there in xvid. Honestly, no one is even going to consider using this Theora codec. And Theora is based on VP3?? HELLO?! There is already a VP6!! And as far as containers go, theres Matroska, which is a far better open-source container than OGM (If you can really count OGM as a container, its really just a hack).
I feel really sorry for this guy. I wonder if there is anything he can do to fight it? I havn't heard particularly favorable things of the japanese legal system.
Winny was an excellant P2P program though. Anything you wanted, you could download, FAST. It was a great concept and would be interesting to see other P2P software take the same approach. Sharing was pretty much mandatory... but you couldn't see who you are sharing with, or what files they are downloading from you. But the ease of downloading is what truely amazes me the most. On a network like eDonkey, you can typically wait for hours before your download even starts, then have the download trickle across at 5kb/second. With winny it was INSANE. Downloads often started immediatly, and you normally get download speeds in the 20-50kb/sec range. It's entirely possible to download complete DVD ISOs in a day. And thats the reason it had to be shut down:|
I know people with pirated windows, and they download all the security updates, straight frmo microsofts site. MS makes them available to everyone. You just can't get them off windows update. You can still find them by searching through the site the old fashoined way though.
First they take our tech jobs, and now they are taking our spam! Is there no end to this madness?!
Don't you mean, "developers, developers, developers..."?
ENOS Lives!
oops, i mean, FIRST POST ...damn... a little late now...
So how does giving someone a "noise blast" make you a more violent person? This type of study seems so flawed that its humorous.
It HAS been cracked. http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=89243

While we're at it, can we just knock off SCO and Microsoft too?

So is it legal to just use the song in a video and post it all over the internet? What is the RIAA going to say about this?

Well... to say "shut down" is a bad choice of words on my part. The network has not been shut down, and I don't believe it can be.

What software implements this algorithm?
