It was fairly stable, considering it was: - File server - Sql server (MS Sql 4.2) - Mail Server (MS Mail 3.5?) - Domain Controller
It would have been much better had it only been 1 (or max 2) of the above roles. What was really awful was that when there was a problem (which with SQL 4.2 and MSMail was frequent), they basically took it down.
A few years ago, I was responsible for approximately 120 Netscreen firewalls. We had about 115 Netscreen 5xt's, 2 x 208's and 3 x 204's.
I found them to be pretty good overall. They are far faster than comparably priced Cisco kit, and the few times that I've needed to use their support, I found them to be able to solve my problem quickly.
Due to a change in management (we decided to go with a telco-provided MPLS network), we have scaled back dramatically on the number of devices, but we are still using a 1/2 dozen or so 5xt's, and all of the 200 series hardware.
If anybody wants to purchase a bunch of 5xt's, reply here (it will need to be somewhat official) - they are currently sitting in my office taking up space.
At this point if I had to choose between a Netscreen, and a Pix (we have a couple of these as well), I would pick the Netscreen.
Nothing like linking to a 10 year old article (anthonydepalma.com).
Since I live less than 5 miles from 8 of them (2 closed down, 6 still operating) the technology is fairly safe. The pot smoking idiot operators running the reactors, and terrible management have caused most of the problems.
At Pickering, they refurbished 2 of the 4 reactors in the Pickering-A plant. Extreme cost overruns were experienced, basically because they had no project plan, no deadlines, and no idea of the work involved. The President of OPG was then fired with a golden parachute. This is hardly a failure of technology.
A "heads up" for those men who may be regular Home Depot customers.
Over the last month I became a victim of a clever scam while out shopping. Simply going out to get supplies has turned out to be quite traumatic. Don't be naive enough to think it couldn't happen to you or your friends. Here's how the scam works:
Two seriously good-looking 20-21 year-old girls come over to your car as you are packing your shopping into the trunk. They both start wiping your windshield with a rag and Windex, with their breasts almost falling out of their skimpy T-shirts. It is impossible not to look.
When you thank them and offer them a tip, they say "No" and instead ask you for a ride to another Home Depot or Staples. You agree and they get in the back seat.
On the way, they start undressing. Then one of them climbs over into the front seat and starts crawling all over you, while the other one steals your wallet.
I had my wallet stolen October 4th, 9th, 10th, twice on the 15th, 17th, 20th, & 24th. Also November 1st, 3rd, three times just yesterday and very likely again this coming weekend.
Granted, our electoral system is a simplier than the US style, but our works like this:
1. A post-card like thing is mailed to my address, informing me where & when to vote (usually a nearby school, church or library). 2. On the appointed date, I go to the local polling office, with my card, and photo ID. 3. Once they check my name off, they give me a piece of paper. I walk to a table with a card-board shroud (for privacy). I use a pencil to mark the name of the person that I am voting for. 4. I show them the outside (unmarked) of the paper, and they verify that it is the same one they gave me. 5. I jam the paper into a cardboard box on the table. 6. I go home, and watch TV while eating beer and Popcorn. 7. At 10:00PM we knew who our new Prime Minister is. 8. I wake up the next morning, and go to work, ready to be screwed by a whole new govt party.
I've setup a thermometer that is hooked up to my PC. It outputs it's temperature to a webpage (also on the PC) that is available here: https://temperature.homeip.net/thermometer
This is in Pickering, Ontario.
(be paitent - it's a slow machine on a dsl connection).
You can then imagine my pleasure when, a few years ago the area that I live in (Durham Region, Ontario) was serviced by Shaw. They made a deal with the devil (rogers), and switched. My service was immediatly broken, and did not really ever work right again.
Ah.
Finally, Change we can all believe in.
We used to run an old Dec Alpha on NT4.

OK
And yet in North America (or Canada at least) they want to fight murder by banning guns.

So tell your friends to be careful.
See this guy.
Very little force is required to move them.
Only about 4watts/cm2
Now where did i leave that sarcasm key ...
Go ask the British - They know where it is.
Hey - Don't let facts get in the way of a good story.
If violence does not solve the problem, you are clearly not using sufficient quantities.
In Canada we had an election last night.

There is also a real nice view of the Pickering Nuclear Generating station (near my house) here: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=pickering,on&ll=43.8 09700,-79.065846&spn=0.010053,0.014098&t=k&hl=en.
You spelled it wrong - it is Moron, not more on.
will it give you the answers? There are no answers to women.
Their shipping rates seem reasonable & they are fast. Just make sure that your billing address matches your Credit Card's billing address.
