Even if I found the source for HL2, I would still need the media, so I would still need to get ahold of the game. Getting an ISO would be simpler than compiling that crap and then getting the media files...this is not gonna cut down on Valve's revenue at all..
I think this is pretty much a non-issue.. Spammers don't use their real email addresses most of the time so they don't get autoreplies.. However, if you load html imgs on a server, they can confirm with that.
