yes I believe he has the right to do this for the most part..
It still doesn't stop me from calling him a dumbass for doing it...to release the same program on two different platforms one shareware one GPL seems like a breach of the spirit of OSS
Thanks for clearing that up Gabe. Quite a few people (including myself) felt that the break-in was a bad excuse for delaying the game. I post to hopefully get more attention to your post

I do admit that the DMCA signing was bad but

the thing is no country would want to risk
1) having their animals get infected
and 2) harming the population
even if it was 1 confirmed case maybe one other slips by and starts to spread
it's basicly a quaratine
the EU does it the US does it (Canadian beef, some cheeses from europe etc etc.)

I liked outland and it was not as popular but it was very popular when he decided to pack his bags. He wanted to make it something different but ended up making another incarnation of Bloom County to an extent. He didn't really like that since he was going for something different. This time he isn't going for something different but a variation it seems on Bloom County so he might be here to stay for a while
The really sad part about all of this is that developers will be less motivated to be really inventive on the job - saving their best ideas for themselves. They will see no benefit to going above and beyond because there is no tangible reward for doing so.
dude, you do know if you make some wonderfully useful things for a company, they will want to keep you, and give things like a bonus, or promotion, or salary hike.
If you write good and useful code you can become valuable to the company. so release that code
everything will eventually be worthless those cd's will get lost, scratched, records scratched, lost, or in one interesting case melted... I don't see your point still. I guess some things will last longer then others but it still loses value over time.
mmmmm.entropy.....

the demand for anime and the community has grown exponetionally lately. the success of Spirited away in getting a wider audience (btw everybody who I've shown it to loved it) I believe that it is only a matter of time before more and more anime makes it into American theatres.
