He's two-faced in that he will march in an event where soldiers through away the medals they earned but holds on to his and tries to use them to bolster his claim to the commander-in-chief job.
Wow, a soldier comes back from Vietnam and is pissed about the whole dieing for nothing thing.
Fourty years later, the scars have healed a bit, and he learns to take pride in surviving the horrific endeavor.
How DARE he!!!!
It must be nice to never have to worry about growing and having your opinions change... I am sure you believe the exact same things you did 40 years ago.
Ok, Ok, we have heard a bit of shit talking about the homogenous radio stations in this country. I think we should all keep in mind that these stations with 10 song playlists perform a very real service in this day and age.
let me tell you a tale:
back in highschool this band called "Green Day" came out and were all the rage. Well, our local clone picked up the single from the first album and played it non-stop. I actually liked it the first time I heard it but grew to hate it as it was played at least 5 times an hour.
Now, if it wasn't for the services on KNDD "The End" I might have ended up liking "Green Day"!! Or even worse: pop-punk!!!
Of course, the copyright system itself is the reason we have book, media, etc.
WRONG! You shouldn't start your post with a logical fallacy. Creative works were produced long before the notion of copyright ever existed therefore you can never assert that copyrights were the cause without extra justification.
Really, you should build up to the logical fallacy that way it is more believable.
This of course is why we will probably never win in this battle. Nobody who cares enough about truth is willing to blatantly lie to take down blatant liars.
hehehe.... I thought was a fancy anti-auto-theft system. Like those systems that can shoot flamethrowers out the side of your car....
I read: Support for boats, support for firing from vehicles, support for drive-bys, and support for planes. And was like "sweet, I can put it on my boat now!"
Even Tolkien, as brilliant and diverse as his world was, found himself doing the same with his races. Dwarves were gruff, short tempered and loved living underground. Elves were stoic and mystical. Orcs were feral and vicious...
Yeah, apparently Tolkien's editors made him take out the gay dwarven spat in the depths of Helm's Deep. Something about it not helping the theme of crushing terror and suspense...
And that, my nerdy friend, is precisely why the world doesn't give a damn whether we like these movies or not.
Not to mention the fact that even if they were the most brilliantly written and directed movies ever people would still be on here bitching about them!
This might be a good time to whore out my current project.
Guilt Free P2P It is fairly new so there isn't much up yet but it is an experiment in making artists money by giving away free stuff legally. Be sure to read the mission statement.
If you have media or software and want to put something up please do!
Because we all know that nobody buys guns for target practice. And there ceratinly is no large, Olympian, sporting event with various examples of this...
I don't think he was necissarily saying that tape-to-tape is the same as P2P and cd-ripping. The entertainment industry DID try and stop VRC's and other tape based duplication methods.
His comment was about what repercussions would this have had if it succeeded in the 80's. I have to wonder if we would have even been allowed tape based digital storage (or any removable or copyable (copiable?) magnetic storage for that matter), and without removable storage PC's would probably never have happened.
More importantly, thousands of cheapass titles! Good books, bad books, but shitloads of them. If I am going to buy a book I want to kill a tree and it will be somebody I already know and usually something I have already read but want to read again. If I want to try something new I will go to the library, or flip through my reader until something catches my eye.
no kidding, in fact it could be said that public key crypto systems have been mathematically proven to be unsafe given sufficient time.

new ad:
Politics.Slashdot.org for when OS flamewars just won't cut it!
BMI would say:
We don't give a rat's ass where you got the file from, that is the RIAA's job. But if you play it in a club you better give us our royalties.

Many junior soldiers/sailors won't come out and say it for fear of publicly disagreeing with the brass
Which is exactly why it is so goddamned important to ensure these people a secret ballot....
heh, not to drag us back to the topic at hand....
Most people are morons period. Though I could see how something like the army could attract a relatively higher proportion...
In general I would say that anybody that ALWAYS votes one way or the other isn't really doing so based on the facts of the issue.

'In the Linux world, nobody stands behind patent claims'
Yeah, but only because SCO never actually filed any....
You should read "The Picture of Dorian Gray" by Oscar Wilde
This is on topic.
We already have libraries and none of those things have happened. What exactly is your point?
Of course, if everybody started downloading stuff that wouldn't get them sued less people would probably get sued...
...ahem...

Guilt Free P2P mirror here. The 40 meg one is not coming through so I put up the medium sized one, still good res...
What's a Wallah?
I thought it was some sort of Muslim expletive....
Why would a piracy protection company want to make it more illegal to pirate? That would just be shrinking their potential market.
hehe...I guess laughing is not clue enough that it is a joke...
wrong...
0 in base 0 is 1
heh...

Accelerate a small object very quickly?
