It probably took so long because there isn't much of a market. Until someone figures out how to copy a GC game to a media format the GC itself can read, I don't see a shitload (using your measurment system) these chips being sold.
The mall where I live has a guy selling these "game systems" at a kiosk. I always wondered how it was legal. I guess the answer is "It isn't."
It wouldn't be so bad if these guys weren't selling these things for $69.99 a pop! It plays 8 bit Nintendo ROMs and it's all built into a Super NES looking controller (fake analog stick & 2 working buttons), w/ an addition controller and lightgun addon.
I contemplated turning him in only because his profit margin must be obscenely high and he was such a punkass about pushing his system on me.
They were dressed as either the Navy Seals, French GIGN, German GSG or UK SAS. All are well established government agencies of high esteem. Wouldn't it be possible that these guys were wannabes? Don't those crazy (and not crazy) militia guys try hard to get thier gear cause it's good? I'd think there would be cheap similar looking knockoffs too.
Or, did these guys tag the walls with a "NO CAMPING" stencil on the way out?

The first two articles are nice and ominous too:
MONDAY Nov 1 2004: BREAKING NEWS: New information indicates that hackers may be targeting the central computers counting our votes tomorrow. All county elections officials who use modems to transfer votes from polling places to the central vote-counting server should disconnect the modems now.
We now have evidence that certainly looks like altering a computerized voting system during a real election, and it happened just six weeks ago.
Which will allow companies to raise prices. Cause I feel really bad for media companies who can't make enough money in sales because of all the pirates.
As the RIAA are scumsucking filth, they'll attack those with the most to lose from a loss to their "alleged" lawsuit, and coerce thousands in settlement from them.
Yup, that's the reason to go after college students... if they can completely ruin your future, that'll be a good deterrent.
"While it's an unusual situation in advertising to have a special interest group endorse rather than criticize a product, it's not unheard of," said Toby Usnik, director of public relations for the New York Times.
Sounds kinda like a certain political race taking place at this very moment.
Well, maybe they'll have to resort to providing games on write restricted memory sticks and call them cartridges. But then people will get pissed cause they'd be cheaper than 2gb regular mem sticks.
Come on, give the guys a break, they were too busy protecting the sanctity of the political process. Besides, it's not like they were downloading music!
It would be pretty awesome if it could stream video off a network and into your TV in real time. Or even just to use as a monitor for your recording. (Though it would need some decent storage space.) Looks decent, even if a bit bulky it's acceptable camera size for me. I wonder if it's programmable, just get MAME on it like those DIgita OS cameras could do and you'd have a pretty geeked out hybrid going on. Hell, throw in an mp3 player too for good measure.
I used to run MAME on my HP 618 until someone stole it. But yeah, it was pretty cool... I used to wish it could play music w/ headphones too. Actually I think there was a program written for it.. it could play sounds. I wouldn't mind reducing the amount of crap I carried around. I also wouldn't mind stopping the music to take a pic if I had to.
What if you have children open the packages and install the software for you? I would assume that minors aren't allowed to enter into legally binding contracts due to thier "innocence/ ignorance/ inability to make decisions of this magnitude?
1. Look through posts in first iteration of article.
2. Decide which type of moderation you want.
3. Copy & Paste (elusive step answered!)
4. Profit!!!
Imagine having to keep track of the depreciation of levels of components in your computer as time goes by. HDDs would retain levels longer than RAM, which next would be video cards which would last a bit longer than CPUs and so on. The "levels" would start shifting disporportionately. Now imagine if you run a store and your hardware on the shelf has to be constantly rotated to keep then in the right "level" sections. But then again... more confusion in a seemingly simplified manner might help hardware sales through the use of confusion tactics that require people to relinquish thier credit cards.
I love pinball, and it saddens me that most of the gaming companies that manufactured the games are giving up on it. It's a great mix of fun and skill on a phsical level. I can't believe the pinall market is going the way of the dinosaur. Oh well, at least it's not people that died.:(
In Hawaii we have Pidgin English which was created by the migrant plantation workers. It is a mix of English, Japanese, Chinese, Philipino and Hawaiian. There are some Samoan curse words thrown in there too for flavor.
It's funny, I grew up with it and assumed it's obvious to understand. But, apparently not since all the tourists and out of towners ask me what the hell people are saying.

Darn, I was under the impression that someone had invented some kind of riding vacuum cleaner with a built in navigation system.

No dude, it's the last home game that they go by.. not the last game before the election.

That's called "Engineer's Syndrome", it's functional but aesthetically crap.

You'll also wanna check out the Battlestar Galactica homage titled The Cylon King.

With this and a on-board vehicle navigation system in a self parking car I can get an extra 40 minute nap and a shave in on my way to work!
Strange, and I allways assumed MS employed a fleet of flying monkeys.
I'd switch... but only if they properly ported the virii and trojan software base, otherwise I'd feel lonely being the only person using my computer.

Yes, take the Personal Telco approach.

Actually there was another phone in one of those booths that Superman used to change in at Burning Man this year that was a "direct line to God".
