    I guess you could count mozilla -> phoenix -> firebird -> firefox.

    That's 4 names but I guess only 3 changes, and only if you really push to count mozilla in the first place

    Whatever the name its a cracking browser and it seemed to get an extra turn of speed in the last name change so maybe thats a good thing ;-)

    I guess I was wrong in thinking Python people might like Java.
    I am a Perl man and Java code is like "urghh I have to write so much bollocks to do *that*?!".

    I'm also learning java to add to my CV (and curiosity) but it's really putting me off. I should have learned Java first I suppose.

    The bat a replacement for outlook?
    What outlook features were your parents using?

    I stopped using the bat because it wasnt free (30 day trial) and it was really shitty at dealing with IMAP.

    I use thunderbird - which has a calendar btw if that is your requirement, it even leaves something to be desired so you should be happy with it ;-)

    What I do is get some of that expanding foam for building use and late one night fill the fucker up.

    That does happen if you are pressing the button of the floor you are on(ok not a double press).

    Say you are riding from floors 1 to 3 and someone gets in at 2, if you press 2 then the doors close as soon as you press it and it continues on.

    It can be embarassing when you dont realise what floor you are on though and send the lift off on a random journey.

    You dont pay for the BBC, you dont have a license.
    Slashdot has had more than one article mentioning the beeb streaming OGG. I saw a couple of perl programming jobs there recently, combined with the comments from others I think you have just made this crap up - you are talking out of your arse.

    The new name is monkeyfox! Ok sure its the same browser and still uses the "phoenix" directory when installing but its A MONKEHFOX now!

    Great idea. Now you only have to worry about your media AND music format going out of date, without any recourse outside of violating the DMA.

    Do you mean loosen? How can you loosen a music collection?

    I also doubt it will cause the Direct Marketing Association(DMA) to be violated (thought they would probably enjoy that).

    Simple solution,
    Occasionally tell a single buddy from work that your wife is good at cleaning and she'll help clean his house for him.
    Have fun telling her :)

    The problem is people think fixing computers is enjoyable for us. Fixing your OWN computer might be rewarding but having to sit in someone elses too hot/too cold possibly smelly house using a mouse that is too dirty to work properly and on a dead slow pc IS NOT FUN.
