    I prefer "light-hearted prod" (could've got that from: Etch-a-Sketch; LCARS; and type already, no?) but that'd be dependent on sense of humour.

    Well that's good. All I'd need for this prediction to be useful now is a time machine.

    • You've never actually seen one, have you? They're not "touch" screens-- the technology behind the pen input is completely different from a PDA..

    Yes and yes I know, respectively. But I disagree the technology is 'completely different' - stylus-screen interface.

    Yeah... I wouldn't part with my Jornada. But I wouldn't lug it around if it were five times as big either.

    • 6) Many come with keyboards and convert to a laptop-style mode.

    Seriously, lighten up - I'm only poking fun at what I see as a buzzword / bandwagon invention. If it works for you then fine - use it. There's really no need to take personal offense...

    Towards the bottom of the document:

    Most of these features are designed to mitigate against malicious attacks on systems even when they do not have the latest patches installed.

    The wavy green line underneath 'mitigate' in my version of Word ('97) suggests they use 'militate'.

    That's the spirit - go get 'em Word! Grrr!

    Choose building a robot that opens doors. Choose not to tell anyone why. Choose a flailing arm that hits door handles. Choose mounting this arm on the top half of the robot for maximum lever-instability-badness. Choose a two-wheeled inherently unstable platform. Choose compensating for bad design with electronic gadgetry. Choose a kick stand kludge for when the robot inevitably keels over.

    Try designing a better door.

    Or if you really need a robo-butler at least give it tracks and a low center of gravity.

    Build? Is everyone else just seeing a section pipe, some explosive charge and some bowling balls?

    A couple of welds aside, what's to build? If it had a range finder then that'd be something to build. Or even some method of setting it off that doesn't involve the 'Darwin Award'-style approach of lighting the fuse and running away e.g. remote control.

    My verdict: cool but stupid.

    Only speculating Cap'n. The naming in the previous films leads me to believe that this will likely hold some meaning. Lots of films like this are littered with references and nods to their various influences and themes.

    Personally, from the little I've seen so far, the subway could be a representation of a Limbo concept and the child in yellow, based on Etrigan.

    But, of course, how much you read into it is entirely up to you.

    Seen at 39 and 45 seconds into the trailer - Neo in an austere white subway station with MOBIL AVE on the tiled wall. Looks like he meets a child dressed in yellow who then leaves with another party (when Neo is punched).

    Simple anagram - LIMBO AVE?

    There's a later subway station shot (subway train labelled "LOOP" hurtling towards the screen) at 1m42s but that doesn't look to be the same location.
