Television is MANY orders of magnitude worse than video gaming or computer gaming.
Many people playing competitive games remain in a heightened state of awareness similar to the condition felt by atheletes during competition. The metabolic rate speeds up and more calories are burnt that when at actual rest. Also, gaming requires at least SOME movement of the hands.
Television viewers tend to regress to a state of conciousness that involves even less movement than sleep!
So while computer/video gaming isn't the healthiest of activities it's certainly not as bad as telivision from that stand point.

I'd get to chase one or two down per semester usually. Then the Campus cops would show up and hold them until the real police got there. I think we managed to get all of them charged and none of them I chased ever got away from me.

I worked in a campus bookstore and kids would come in and steal the 120$ law books and try to sell them back to us downstairs. Of course, I got paid more than my friends did because they worked at Wal-Mart, and they weren't allowed to chase shoplifters. So I think most of them just didn't care.

Combat is aweful. NPC's can shoot you through mountains and trees. When you fight melee it doesn't even look like you are hitting each other sometimes. Melee fighters almost always lose duels to ranged weapons because melee was nerfed before beta was released. The ranged weapon character can just run circles around the melee'er and shoot him/her/it.

Hence the old addage, "Never bring a knife to a gunfight".

The easiest thing to shoplift is actually large bags of stuff. Dogfood, catfood, garden stuff. Just grab a bag and throw it over your shoulder, walk out the door. No one even thinks about asking for a receipt for it.
Of course, who the heck shoplifts dogfood?
    >:)
Also, in a super walmart buy some groceries, put them in your cart, put a trashcan or something on the bottom of the cart, fill the trashcan with loot. Walk out with groceries + can full of loot. Wave to greeter on your way out.

They key is to get loot that doesn't set off any alarms. Books, CDs. electronics are all bad ideas for this. However over the counter medication, clothing (assuming you carry a pretty strong magnet around with you for removing those RF tags) and office supplies all work really well.

And no, I've never shoplifted anything more expensive than a pack of tictacs (on accident no less!), but I've worked in retail and had friends who worked at walmart and watched people get away with this stuff.

However, The issue at hand involves none of those things, nor even the remote chance of those things occuring. Apparently you aren't aware that the nature of this genetic modification is WELL understood even though the extend of its effects on organisms is somewhat sporadic. The variable here is not how it affects things when spliced in, but only to the degree of the effect.
Secondly, no one is going to be releasing Zebra fish into the wild in mass quantities here. A half dozen of these escaping into a lake or whatever isn't going to whipe out the existing species. Zebra fish are victim fish. Bass, Catfish, Snapping turtles, all manner of things will eat them.
This abject panic over making a fish that is luminescent under UV lights is NOT caution. It's insane panic over something that has about a .000000000000000001 chance of being harmful.

I don't fucking care of the Zebra fish all disappear because the glowing version escapes and turns into SUPER ZEBAFISH or something. They aren't the only organisms occupying that ecological niche. What danger are you looking for here? that one fish will escape into the wild and somehow trample tokyo? Do you spend a lot of time EATING Zebra fish so you are worried about getting poisoned?
What possible danger could this pose?
Glowing Zebra fish are not a threat to the world ecology. Sit down, shut up, and let people go about their business of trying to understand the world instead of cowering in frightened ignorance.

AHA! Here we go, now we see why you have these misconceptions. You don't have ADHD, or any compulsive behaviour.
The reason that things like this are diseases are that you CAN'T control them.
Example, I have a mild obsessive compulsive habit. It's just a single habit luckily and it involves paralel lines. If I see two straight lines near each other which are not paralel but could be adjusted to become so I will adjust them to become so. Magazines get stacked, pieces of paper get rearanged, pencils get lined up, all manner of odd things will get adjusted just so there are no lines which are not paralel. I have no control over it. I don't usually notice when I do it, it just happens.
I also have mild ADD, I have no control over when my mind will suddenly change subjects. In fact, it happened just now. I just went off on a 10 minute side thought about VNC and my current desktop setup.... Anyways. The key descriptor is that people CAN'T control these things. You can't just "Cheer up" if you are depressed, you can't just "pay attention" if you have ADHD/ADD.

You can not tell me that there is no place for medication in the treatment of severe attention disorders or in the treatment of severe anger or depression. My father was borderline delusional paranoid while I was growing up, he believed that everyone was out to get him, that lead to some rage filled incidents that destroyed our house, cars, all manner of things. None of this was able to clear up until he began taking medication to clear up the chemical imbalance in his brain.
My wife can't concentrate on anything for more than a few minutes and is prone to mood swings that take her from being happy and fine to murderous rage in minutes. Wellbutrin helps her to be able to concentrate on the stuff she wants to do and gets rid of that pesky urge to murder people.
She doesn't care if they don't "cure" the problem, because the problem can't be cured. Her brain produces an incorrect amount of certain chemicals. End of story. Learning to "cope" or "deal with it" isn't going to make her brain produce the correct quantities of chemicals.
So, you, and the other asshat can take a long walk off of a short pier. I like my wife without the homicidal tendencies thank you very much.

Caffeine has many of the same properties that ADHD drugs do.
