FF8 was considered by many to be the low point of the series.
I'm not trying to sell you on anything but 7 was an outstanding game (although not my favorite) and it would make a new generation of gamers able to see that with a remake.
The fact that FF7 was the first game of the series that was 3D was a double edged sword. It was awesome at the time but now it is very difficult to back to.
First off, I only saw about ten minutes of the show.
Lots of rap. I like rap but having rappers show up to shamelessly self-promote kills what little integrity the show had.
My main point however:
Samual L. Jackson accepted the award for "Game of the Year" on behalf of GTA: San Andreas (Note, he did voice acting for the game). But he referred to the game as "Grand Theft Auto 2".
That is what truly killed it for me.
Next time a game wins the most prestigious award of the show, you want it to be accepted by someone who had more than trivial involvement in the project and KNOWS THE TITLE OF THE GAME!
I agree...
After playing through the first Final Fantasy again (via Origins) with the SNES-quality graphics I was creamin'. I can only imagine the other classics: basically all the FFs, Xenogears, Chrono Trigger.
DigiPen is very solid. I did a lot of research before applying and I will be attending in the fall to start my work on the programming degree.
The reason I chose Digipen is because it is the only school that offers an accredited degree in Real-Time Interactive Simulation - games.
There are plenty of programs that offer certifications and awards of acheivement but I wanted to have a real degree. Full Sail is the only other 'game school' that even comes close to Digipen.
I guess my real question might be - are there any network games for the PS2 that make buying the network adapter worthwhile?
Well, probably Final Fantasy XI if you are into RPGs; but not that much else. It is lame that Sony isn't supporting a network for the systems games and that it is dependant on the developer to make it happen.
There should be a movie game/GTA crossover where you can gather hookers, strippers and any other girls and get them to make pr0n.
You could get them hooked on smack (or spank), and make movies... from the years 1900 to 2010.
What a bad idea, what was I thinking. I think that was basically in Vice City. Oops.

That is a good idea for the non-linear segment of the game. The only thing it lacks is that there has to be a storyline that keeps the action moving. But definantly in between events it would be cool to just help random people and have a ranging reputation system.

I read this article yesturday. Basically, the reason they said it wasn't violent enough is because there is little or no shock value so the game has no total value.
People have beening torturing and killing hookers in GTA3 and VC for awhile now so there is no spectacle with Postal 2.
The author suggests that since the developers (Running with Scissors) were going for ultra-violence then they should have made it over the top instead of just a little more violent then the rest.
The game is mediocre at best anyway. They are just trying to capitalize on the spectacle of violence.
It wasn't a racial slur. I will agree that it was inappropriate; but shit, there are lots of case of SARS in Canada too.
SARS and ethnicity are completely separate entities but they are only linked by the abundance of Korean people (Asian areas in general) that are plagued by SARS right now. Don't misinterperate their comments as racially motivated.
I have been playing Soldat for the last few months simply because it is a very entertaining game. The graphics and animation are well done and there is constant action much like playing Quake but with the functional view of Worms.
Just because a game isn't have cutting edge graphics doens't mean it isn't a good game. Only an idiot would judge a game primarily on visuals.
I love tactics as well. The story really is amazing but it is amazingly similar to Niccolo Makevelli's "The Prince." If you even read a summary of the Prince you would be amazed at the uncanny similarities.
As for the job system, they really did improve upon what was developed in ff2 and ff5. I wish there was a way to play as some of the special classes (High Priest, Dark Knight, Holy Knight etc.) that would be cool
The market is going to be flooded with handheld systems and eventually Nintendo's product will come out victorious. That's how it has been for the last decade, why wouldn't it continue that way?
It seems to me that the amount of storage has now developed into overkill for music files.
Um, I don't think so...
When you have 90+ gigs of music like I do then 20 on a portable player seems like a good fit. But that's why there are different HDD sizes, to fit everyone's needs.

I just peed my pants a little bit
Convict:
Jones: sheeeeeeeeet, grand theft auto... for real man.
What a wacky situation. I feel sorry for that guy, he must be pissed at his friend.

I don't think it is new either. I think i remember seeing this movie in the 80's but it was called The Running Man.

In Soviet Russia, parallel algorith writes you!

in 5 years we will be talking about how dumb Nokia was for making that crazy gaming phone and trashtalking the GameBoy.
Fools! The GB has has the market on lock down for over a decade, don't talke shit about what everyone loves.

Apparently, this is powerful and precise enough to destroy enemy intercontinental and intermediate-range missiles in mid-flight
Then we will have to hire people who were pros at "Missile Command" in the 80's to operate these damn lasers so that our cities can be safe!
The only downside is that in "Missile Command" you were pretty screwed, it was just a matter of time.
Average speed: more than 923 megabits per second
Sweet Jeebus!
Even a retarded midget in a bikini would rule in q3 with that type of bandwidth!
